Ovarian cancer takes several years to develop

In short, ovarian cancer is a cancerous disease that occurs in the ovaries. Ovarian cancer usually affects life, so once ovarian cancer is diagnosed, you need to actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment. If you want to prevent the occurrence of ovarian cancer, you need to take good care of your body. The formation of ovarian cancer is not a short-term process. How many years does it take for ovarian cancer to form?

How many years does it take for ovarian cancer to develop?

There is no exact time for the formation of cancer, because everyone has cancer cells in the human body. Some people will never get cancer in their entire lives, while some people may get cancer before the age of 20. This is related to the five carcinogenic factors mentioned above.

Ovarian cancer often occurs in menopausal women. The incidence rate increases rapidly after the age of 40, peaks at 50-60 years old, and decreases after the age of 70. So the development of ovarian cancer may take 20, 30 years, or more likely 40 or 60 years.

Mental factors have an impact on the occurrence of ovarian cancer. A bad temper and long-term mental stimulation can promote the occurrence of ovarian cancer. Therefore, paying attention to emotional issues and staying optimistic in daily life can have a certain anti-cancer effect.

What are the causes of ovarian cancer in women?

1. Endocrine factors:

The chance of breast cancer or endometrial cancer coexisting with ovarian cancer is twice as high as usual, and all three occur in hormone-dependent women. Among ovarian cancer patients, the number of pregnancies is low and the proportion of non-pregnant women is high, indicating that pregnancy seems to have an antagonistic effect on the cause of ovarian cancer. Breastfeeding and ovulation stop during pregnancy, reducing damage to the ovarian epithelium.

2. Genetic and family factors:

About 20% to 25% of ovarian cancer patients have a family history. The so-called familial clustering of ovarian cancer refers to a high incidence among a family, mainly epithelial cancer. 5% to 14% of women with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome develop ovarian cancer, while basal cell nevus syndrome often coexists with ovarian fibrosis.

3. Chemical carcinogenic factors:

The cause of ovarian cancer may also be chemical carcinogens. The ovaries are very sensitive to tobacco. Excessive and long-term smoking not only causes early menopause, but also increases the incidence of ovarian cancer, which is also one of the causes of ovarian cancer. Women who are frequently exposed to talcum powder and asbestos are also more likely to develop ovarian cancer. In addition, talcum powder is also a threat factor.

4. Environmental factors:

The high incidence of ovarian cancer in industrially developed countries may be related to the high cholesterol content in the diet.

5. Marriage and childbearing:

It is one of the more important causes of ovarian cancer. According to statistics, single women have more than half the risk of ovarian cancer than married women, and women who give birth have a lower risk of cancer than those who do not.

6. Age:

Although ovarian cancer can occur at any age, its incidence rate increases with age, with a peak age of 50-60 years old, and gradually decreases after 70 years old.

7. Mental factors:

An irritable personality, excessive stress, and mental tension can damage the body's immune system, which in turn can induce tumor growth. This is the main cause of ovarian cancer.
