How many days after menstruation is it best to do B-ultrasound

In clinical medicine, many people need to undergo B-ultrasound to determine their condition or check whether they have any health problems. Of course, when doing a B-ultrasound, especially when it comes to women, there are many things to pay attention to. For example, you cannot do an ultrasound during menstruation and you need to wait three days after the end of your period. Next, I will introduce you to the relevant knowledge about B-ultrasound examination!

1. What does B-ultrasound check?

B-ultrasound examination is a type of ultrasonic examination and a non-surgical diagnostic examination. Through B-ultrasound, various cross-sectional images of various internal organs of the human body can be obtained in a relatively clear manner. Ultrasound examination is not only suitable for pregnant women, but men can also do it. Items that are usually examined by B-ultrasound include: liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, appendix, etc., uterus, ovaries, appendages, fallopian tubes for women, and seminal vesicles and prostate for men.

2. Pelvic B-ultrasound

The purpose is to check for uterine tumors, endometriosis, uterine malformations, ovarian tumors, pelvic inflammatory masses or abscesses, etc. If a woman is pregnant, she will have a prenatal B-ultrasound. The main purpose of the B-ultrasound is to check the amount of amniotic fluid and understand the growth and development of the fetus, such as the size of the fetal head and the length of the fetal buttocks. It can also determine whether the placenta is normal, diagnose diseases before birth, detect whether the fetus is deformed, and whether it is suffering from hypoxia or damage in the uterus.

Operation process: The person being examined pulls down his pants to expose his lower abdomen, and the examiner places the B-ultrasound probe on the lower abdomen to observe the situation inside the pelvic cavity.

Result time: Results will be available immediately after the inspection.

Not suitable for people: pregnant women in the first 3 months of pregnancy, the elderly and people with urinary incontinence.

Note:

(1) The lower abdomen needs to be exposed during the examination, so it is best to wear pants or a skirt to make it easier to take off clothes.

(2) You need to drink about 1000 ml of water half an hour to one hour before the examination and hold your urine as long as possible. Because only when the bladder is full to a certain extent can the uterus be squeezed from the deep pelvic cavity to the lower abdomen, and the uterus and ovaries can be observed by B-ultrasound. So it is best to carry a water bottle with you to refill it in time.

3. Vaginal B-ultrasound

The purpose is to check whether there are any lesions or deformities in the uterus, cervix, endometrium, etc.

Operation process: Put a thin film on the probe, and the doctor or the patient himself/herself inserts the probe into the vagina for examination.

Result time: Results will be available immediately after the inspection.

Not suitable for the following groups of people: those with irregular menstrual or vaginal bleeding; those with infectious diseases, such as vaginitis, sexually transmitted diseases; other cervical diseases, vaginal diseases and some vulvar diseases, to prevent infection, cross-infection and bleeding and other adverse consequences.

Note:

(1) If you have a disease that is not suitable for transvaginal ultrasound, you should remind your doctor in time to avoid transvaginal ultrasound.

(2) Because you will need to take off your lower body clothing during the examination, you should wear clothes and shoes that are easy to take off and change.
