Causes of early menstruation

Women's menstrual period is very regular. Some women have a cycle of thirty days, some have a cycle of twenty-eight days, and some women may have irregular periods, with the period coming a few days early each time. But what is the reason for early menstruation? Why does menstruation come early? If menstruation comes more than a week early, it is an endocrine disorder, often known as premature menstruation, and needs to be treated. But it is normal if there are only three or five days in advance.

What is early menstruation?

The normal menstrual cycle of women is about 28 days. If the menstrual cycle is always more than 7 days early, or even occurs twice within a month, it is called "premature menstruation", also known as "early menstruation" or "early menstruation". Doctors remind that if it is only 3 to 5 days ahead of schedule and there are no other obvious symptoms, it is within the normal range. Occasionally your period comes ahead of schedule, so it doesn't count as an early menstrual period and there's no need to be too nervous. There are many reasons for early menstruation, mainly including the following.

1. Caused by organic diseases or drugs: including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities, malnutrition of reproductive organs; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid gland, etc.

2. Caused by endocrine disorders: mainly due to unstable or defective function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, that is, menstrual disorders.

3. Qi deficiency: Qi deficiency in the heart and spleen often leads to early menstruation.

4. Blood heat: People with excessive yang energy in the body, or those who are depressed, or those who eat spicy and stimulating food and supplements, or those who have lost a lot of blood due to long-term illness are very likely to develop blood heat. When the blood is hot, it will flow more quickly, which will lead to early menstruation.

5. Fertility status: Early menstruation is also related to fertility status. The older the age at conception, the earlier the menopause, and the fewer pregnancies, the earlier the menopause. This is because the older the age of first pregnancy, the fewer pregnancies there are, which causes women to ovulate more frequently and reach menopause earlier. In addition, the longer the breastfeeding period, the later the menopause. This is because ovulation will be affected during breastfeeding. If the breastfeeding period is prolonged, the number of ovulation will decrease, so the menopause will be later.
