Less menstrual flow after giving birth

Less menstrual flow after giving birth

As soon as a woman becomes pregnant, her menstruation will stop, and her menstruation will start again after she gives birth. Many women find that the amount of menstruation after giving birth is very different from that before giving birth. The amount of menstruation after giving birth is pitifully small. Why does this happen? Usually the small amount of menstruation is caused by blood deficiency in the body, so female friends who have given birth must take good care of their bodies.

1. Why is there less menstrual flow after giving birth?

The main reasons are blood deficiency or traumatic bleeding. For example, postpartum hemorrhage can cause blood deficiency, resulting in oligomenorrhea. Congenital kidney qi and kidney essence deficiency, excessive childbirth, etc. damage the kidneys, resulting in kidney qi deficiency, and finally leading to oligomenorrhea. Sometimes the endocrine system is normal, but the uterus is underdeveloped, the endometrium's response to the stimulation of ovarian hormones is reduced, or there is partial adhesion of the endometrium, which can also cause oligomenorrhea.

Prevention is generally the main means. New mothers should pay attention to the following aspects in their daily lives: they should try to avoid surgeries that can damage the endometrium; they should use birth control pills alternately with other contraceptive measures to avoid excessive suppression of pituitary function due to long-term use of birth control pills.

If a new mother has regular menstruation but heavy bleeding each time, it means she has excessive menstruation. Menorrhagia is mainly caused by organic diseases, such as adenomyosis and uterine fibroids, but the most common cause is ovulatory DUB.

Under normal circumstances, the amount of menstrual blood in each menstrual cycle generally does not exceed 30 ml to 50 ml. If it exceeds 80 ml, it can be diagnosed as menorrhagia. The amount of menstrual blood in each person's menstrual cycle is different, so you can only judge it based on your own situation.

There are many ways to treat heavy periods, such as oral medications or an intrauterine device that releases medication. Drug treatment is usually used after delivery.

TIPs: New mothers must not use medication indiscriminately. Taking medication on your own may lead to serious side effects. Some new mothers are eager to seek treatment for their irregular menstruation and use hormones to treat it, but this only makes the condition worse. If the usage and indications of sex hormones are not understood correctly or the medication is not taken according to the doctor's orders, it can often cause menstrual disorders, heavy bleeding or other complications. Therefore, it is not advisable to abuse sex hormones to treat irregular menstruation.

2. How to regulate scanty menstruation

In addition to regulating scanty menstruation through food, you can also regulate menstruation by changing your lifestyle habits and avoiding mental stimulation. Women during menstruation should keep warm and avoid cold stimulation, especially pay attention to not eating raw or cold food. In addition, avoid excessive fatigue and maintain a happy mood. These methods are very effective in regulating menstruation, thereby preventing the symptoms of scanty menstruation.

1. Pay attention to your diet. About a week before menstruation, women should avoid eating raw, cold, spicy and irritating foods. They can drink more water, consume foods rich in fiber, and keep their bowel movements smooth. You can regulate your body by drinking brown sugar water during menstruation.

2. Eliminate fatigue. If the body is overworked, the functions of the body's organs will be affected and the metabolism will be adversely affected. Therefore, during menstruation, women should avoid intense and prolonged exercise, pay attention to rest, ensure sleep, maintain a regular lifestyle, and avoid staying up late.

3. Keep warm. In addition to avoiding eating raw or cold food, women with light menstrual flow should avoid exposure to cold water, especially cold showers during menstruation. If you sit in an air-conditioned room for a long time, it is best to put on a thin blanket and keep warm to avoid catching cold.

4. Pay attention to hygiene. Women should pay attention to the cleanliness of their external genitalia on a daily basis, especially during menstruation, they should pay attention to cleaning the vulva in time to prevent infection. Choose soft, cotton, and well-ventilated underwear, wash and change it frequently, and dry it in the sun. Avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation.

5. Relax. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that feeling stuffy can easily cause liver depression and qi stagnation, thereby reducing menstrual flow. Negative emotions such as excessive mental stimulation, tension, and sadness can lead to endocrine disorders and cause menstrual abnormalities, so female friends must adjust their mentality and learn to relax.
