The bleeding is generally small in amount and dark red in color. Abdominal pain often occurs after intercourse.

5. Pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammation can cause pelvic congestion. If the endometrium is congested and edematous, the congested endometrium may be released after intercourse, but this opportunity is rare.
