Which department should I go to for prenatal checkup?

Pregnancy is the most important thing in a woman's life, but many women do not realize the importance of pregnancy when they are pregnant for the first time for various reasons. There are still some irregular eating habits, or lack of rest, and no attention to going to the hospital for physical examination at the appropriate time. Pregnant women often become confused, for example, they don’t know how to go to the hospital for treatment, which is a serious problem. It also needs to be resolved in a timely manner. So which department should I go to for pre-pregnancy check-up?

Which department should I go to for early pregnancy check-up

Early pregnancy check-ups are usually done in the obstetrics and gynecology department. If your local hospital has a family planning department, you can also ask. In some hospitals, early pregnancies are checked by the family planning department, and the obstetrics department only checks pregnancies after 28 weeks.

The first prenatal check-up is the time for expectant mothers to share more information with their doctors. Bring your ID card and birth permit, and the doctor will create a card for you, which is your pregnancy physical examination record. From now on, the doctor will record all your relevant prenatal examination information on it. The expectant father should be brought along for the first prenatal check-up, and the doctor also needs to understand the health of you and his immediate family members and family members.

After pregnancy is confirmed, have your first prenatal visit within 12 weeks of your missed period. During the 16th to 28th week of pregnancy, the check-up should be every four weeks; during the 28th to 36th week of pregnancy, the check-up should be every two weeks. After the 36th week of pregnancy, check once a week, and check 13 times a week. Older pregnant women should increase the frequency of checkups.

Female employees of enterprises should choose local designated medical institutions for check-ups or childbirth. If the conditions for maternity insurance reimbursement are met, the employer shall go to the social security agency in the insured area to settle the maternity insurance benefits within one month after the female employee's maternity leave. Among them, the maternity medical expenses such as prenatal examination fees and delivery fees for female employees who give birth and meet the requirements are settled at a fixed rate. Maternity leave or antenatal check-up should be treated as work. This is a legal requirement and has nothing to do with how long you work.
