What is the process of induction of labor at 24 weeks?

Women will encounter many problems during the process of pregnancy and childbirth. Most of these problems have scientific solutions, but some problems are very serious. For example, pregnant women develop chronic nephritis or serious infections, which can lead to fetal death in the womb. There may also be severe preeclampsia, etc. Because of these serious diseases, pregnant women can no longer continue their pregnancy. At this time, they must go to the hospital for induced labor in time. The detailed process of induced labor is introduced below.

24-week induction process:

Generally speaking, the entire process of induced labor is divided into four stages: preoperative examination, operation period, postoperative period and postoperative recovery.

1. Examination before induction of labor

First, a gynecological examination will be conducted. General examination items include urine test, B-ultrasound, electrocardiogram, routine leucorrhea examination, etc. The above examinations are usually performed to find out whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy, determine the cleanliness of the vagina, check the size of the uterus, and whether the patient can tolerate anesthesia.

2. Induction of labor

The patient enters the surgical preparation room, takes off his clothes (completely naked) and puts on surgical gown (prepared for the patient), enters the operating room and lies on the operating table with his legs spread apart and fixed on a bracket. A puncture needle is used to inject the medicine into the amniotic cavity through the mother's abdominal wall. About 36 hours later, uterine contractions are initiated to expel the fetus.

Then the uterus will be cleaned up. The operation time will be determined according to the month of pregnancy, the size of the gestational sac, personal constitution, etc. You can consult the surgeon for the appropriate method of induction of labor.

3. Postoperative care after induced abortion

Whether it is induced abortion or miscarriage, it is a traumatic process for women, especially induced abortion, which can cause relatively great trauma to the female reproductive system. Any medical operation, especially induced abortion, has some complications, such as vaginal bleeding, uterine infection, etc.

Therefore, after induced abortion, you should pay more attention to comprehensive nutritional supplements, pay attention to hygiene, and not have sex. You have to wait until the uterus fully recovers, at the latest 42 days and at most 3 months later.

Is induced labor painful?

There are two types of induction of labor: traditional and painless. Traditional artificial induction of labor is inevitably painful. If the pregnant woman cannot bear the severe pain, she can choose painless artificial induction of labor.

Painless induced labor refers to the injection of anesthetics into early pregnant women during the induced labor operation, so that they do not feel pain. Therefore, painless induced labor is painless.

The success rate of painless induced labor is high. The patient undergoes the operation under anesthesia, avoiding sequelae such as uterine perforation caused by the patient's non-cooperation due to pain during traditional induced labor. At the same time, it prevents various complications caused by artificial induced labor, preventing women from psychological and mental injuries. At the same time, the cooperation of the patient allows the surgeon to concentrate more and focus on the operation without being disturbed by the outside world, which greatly improves the safety of the operation.
