How long will it take for the baby to be born if the uterus contracts and the back aches

If there are no unexpected events, women will enter the delivery period after ten months of pregnancy. Before delivery, there will be uterine contractions, and pregnant women will feel abdominal pain at this time, but how long will it take for delivery after the uterine contractions and back pain? Every woman's physical condition is different, so for some women, the bone sutures open quickly after uterine contractions and they may give birth within a few hours, but for others, the pain lasts for a whole day.

How long will the second baby be born?

Signs before second childbirth

1. Uterine fundus descent: The enlarged uterus begins to descend, reducing the pressure on the diaphragm. Pregnant women will feel that breathing difficulties are relieved, the pressure on the stomach disappears, and their appetite increases.

2. Abdominal pain and back pain: The descending fetal head increases the pressure on the pelvis, and the feeling of abdominal pain and back pain will become more and more obvious.

3. Increased frequency of defecation and urination: The descent of the fetus compresses the bladder and rectum, causing the patient to feel the urge to urinate after urinating and not feel comfortable after defecation.

4. The amount of secretions discharged from the cervix and vagina increases.

5. Fetal movement decreases: Fetal movement is not so obvious at this time. Don’t feel uneasy about it. This is because the fetal position is relatively fixed. However, if you still don't feel fetal movement for 12 hours, you should see a doctor immediately.

6. Weight gain stops: Sometimes there is even weight loss, which indicates that the fetus has matured.

7. Frequent and irregular uterine contractions: also known as false labor. Starting from the 28th week of pregnancy, false contractions will often occur in the abdomen. If a pregnant woman stands or sits in the same posture for a long time, she will feel her abdomen hardening from time to time. This is called false labor, which is characterized by irregular timing and varying degrees of intensity. Before delivery, false labor will become more and more frequent due to the traction stimulation of the lower uterine segment caused by the descending fetal head.

Psychological care measures for uterine contractions

(1) Psychological therapy can relieve uterine contraction pain, establish a good nurse-patient relationship, and make mothers feel safe and trustful. Due to the implementation of family planning in my country, society and families give mothers great preferential treatment and care, which to some extent causes them to be overly cautious. Most first-time mothers lack knowledge about childbirth and are afraid of giving birth. Therefore, after a woman is admitted to the hospital for delivery, the words and actions of the midwife will directly affect the woman's psychology. This requires midwives to not only have excellent professional and technical skills, but also have good psychological quality, a kind attitude, gentle operation, active observation of the labor process, and patient answering questions.

(2) Eliminate the anxiety, tension and fear of the mother. These factors can make the mother more sensitive to pain and aggravate the pain. Tension is an important pathogenic factor clinically. The mother's mental tension can inhibit the cerebral cortex through the central nervous system, making uterine contractions weak and the cervix difficult to dilate, thereby prolonging the labor process. Clinical observations show that 50% of pregnant women suffer from anxiety and 75% suffer from tension and fear. Therefore, we need to give more explanations at work, tell them the progress of labor and the condition of the fetus, and introduce common knowledge about childbirth.

(3) Use distraction, massage, and deep breathing to reduce labor pain. Encourage women with strong tolerance during labor; pay more attention to those with weak tolerance and high pain sensitivity. When the contractions are too strong and too frequent, talk to the women more to distract them from the pain, or touch their abdomen, massage their lumbar region, and ask them to take a deep breath during labor. At the same time, instruct them to empty their bladder in time, eat a high-calorie diet, maintain their physical strength, and cheer them up to promote pain resistance.
