What to eat if lochia is not clean

Women will have lochia after giving birth or having an abortion. If the lochia is not clear for a long time, you must go to the hospital for timely examination. It may be caused by incomplete abortion or residue in the uterus. It is best to take medicine under the guidance of a doctor. Don't take medicine blindly. You also need to pay more attention to personal hygiene, wash the vulva frequently with warm water, keep the vulva dry, and prevent bacterial infection.

What to eat if lochia is not clean

Drink more brown sugar water, or you can buy some hawthorn and boil some water. Donkey-hide gelatin and egg custard is a good dietary therapy that can promote uterine contraction and help expel lochia. Preparation method: Add appropriate amount of water and 100 grams of rice wine to 30 grams of donkey-hide gelatin and boil it into a gelatinous state. Beat in 2 eggs and stir evenly. Steam it before eating. Sugared lotus root drink can also help heal uterine wounds. Blend the lotus root into juice and add some sugar to drink. Postpartum mothers should eat more nutritious food during the confinement period. At the same time, the taste should be light, and spicy, cold and other irritating foods should be avoided to avoid irritating the uterus, causing poor recovery of the uterus and causing lochia. In addition, foods that have the effect of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, such as brown sugar and Shenghua Tang, should not be eaten too much or for too long, otherwise it will cause increased bleeding and cause lochia.

There are three common reasons for persistent lochia:

1. The uterus has not recovered well: When the placenta peels off from the uterus, it will leave a large wound. If the uterus does not contract completely, the wound will be difficult to heal and bleeding will continue, resulting in the continuous appearance of bloody lochia, resulting in persistent lochia.

2. Endometrial inflammation: When the endometrium is inflamed, the sharp membrane tissue is discharged intermittently, resulting in persistent lochia.

3. Uterine cavity infection: If the vulva is not kept clean regularly and in the correct way after delivery, it may cause uterine cavity infection and cause inflammation of the endometrium or cervix. Before the lochia has not stopped, improper cleaning of the vulva, taking a tub bath, and having sex will allow bacteria to enter the uterus and cause uterine infection, thus resulting in continued lochia.

What are the types of postpartum lochia

1. Red lochia

In the first week after delivery, the amount of lochia is large and bright red. It contains a large amount of blood, small blood clots and necrotic decidual tissue, which is called red lochia. Bloody lochia lasts for three to four days, the amount of uterine bleeding gradually decreases, the serous fluid increases, and it turns into serous lochia.

2. Lochia serous

After one week to half a month, the amount of blood in the lochia decreases, and there are more necrotic decidua, cervical mucus, vaginal secretions and bacteria, which makes the lochia turn into light red serous fluid. The lochia at this time is called serous lochia. Serous lochia lasts for about ten days, the serous fluid gradually decreases, the white blood cells increase, and the lochia turns into white lochia.

3. White lochia

After half a month to three weeks, the lochia no longer contains blood, but contains a large number of white blood cells, degenerated decidua, epidermal cells and bacteria, making the lochia viscous and white in color, so it is called white lochia. The white lochia lasted for three weeks without any bleeding.
