Does nasal discharge mean ovulation?

Does nasal discharge mean ovulation?

Women with normal fertility generally experience ovulation every month. Like the menstrual period, the ovulation period has some physical symptoms unique to women. This symptom is called leucorrhea, and it is caused by the fact that women can basically only release one egg per month, so not all leucorrhea contains eggs. So if there is an egg in the vaginal discharge, its shape will be different from other vaginal discharge. If a woman's vaginal discharge is snot-like, is it during the ovulation period?

1. Leucorrhea during ovulation

The leucorrhea during the ovulation period is generally in the form of transparent mucus, with a large amount of secretions. If you gently pinch the leucorrhea with two fingers, it will be pulled into thin threads and feel like snot. This is generally normal leucorrhea, which is caused by special physiological factors during the ovulation period.

2. Trichomonas vaginalis inflammation

The main symptoms of trichomoniasis in women are that the leucorrhea is sometimes purulent, sometimes foamy, with a fishy smell, and the amount of leucorrhea increases, and the color is milky white or yellow-green. Patients with severe conditions may also have bloody leucorrhea, frequent urination, painful urination, and hematuria.

3. Bacterial female private part inflammation

The main symptoms of bacterial female private part inflammation are increased leucorrhea, grayish white, foamy and purulent nasal discharge, vulvar itching and burning sensation, and a strong foul odor from the female private parts.

4. Cervicitis

Cervicitis can also cause leucorrhea to appear as purulent mucus, sometimes accompanied by blood streaks or blood. Excessive leucorrhea for a long time will irritate the vulva and cause vulvar itching symptoms. In addition, there may be pain in the lower abdomen, lumbosacral region, dysmenorrhea, and irregular menstruation.

5. Other abnormal leucorrhea

White or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea

It is a characteristic of trichomoniasis in women and may be accompanied by vulvar pain and itching.

Curd-like or tofu-like vaginal discharge

The characteristics of candidal vaginal inflammation are often accompanied by severe vulvar pain, itching or burning pain. Gray homogeneous leucorrhea with a fishy smell: The smell is especially worse after intercourse; common in bacterial female private parts diseases.

Purulent leucorrhea

It is yellow or yellow-green in color, sticky, and often has a foul odor. It can be caused by acute female vulvar inflammation, cervicitis, and endocervicitis caused by bacteria such as Trichomonas or gonococci. Pyometra, cervical cancer, female private part cancer or foreign bodies left in the female private part can also cause pus-like leucorrhea.

Colorless, transparent, sticky vaginal discharge

It is egg white-like and has properties similar to the mucus secreted by the cervical glands during ovulation, but the amount of secretion is significantly increased compared to usual. Generally, the possibility of chronic endocervicitis, ovarian dysfunction, female private gland disease or well-differentiated cervical adenocarcinoma should be considered.

Bloody leucorrhea

If there is blood mixed in the leucorrhea, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical polyps or submucosal fibroids should be considered. Insertion of an intrauterine device can also cause bloody leucorrhea.

Watery leucorrhea

If there is a continuous discharge of rice-washing water-like leucorrhea, and it is accompanied by a strong odor, it is usually due to advanced cervical cancer, female private parts cancer, or submucosal fibroids with infection.

6. What are the hazards of abnormal leucorrhea?

1. Inflammation of reproductive organs, such as female vulva inflammation, cervicitis, endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc.

If the leucorrhea is milky in color, becomes thin and foamy or white and tofu-like, with moderate to large amounts and no itching, it may be suspected to be female private part inflammation. If the leucorrhea is milky white or light yellow with pus, sometimes with blood, it may be cervicitis. If the leucorrhea increases in amount, is yellow in color, and thin in texture, and is accompanied by abdominal pain, be alert to pelvic inflammatory disease.

2. Infectious gynecological diseases.

If the leucorrhea is white and cheese-like, thick, slightly sweet, and causes some itching in the female private parts, it may be a candidal infection; if the leucorrhea is yellow-green, thin and foamy, accompanied by a foul odor and itching in the female private parts, it may be a trichomoniasis infection in the female private parts; if the leucorrhea is mixed with white lumps, like tofu dregs, and is accompanied by extreme itching, it is very likely to be fungal genital inflammation; if the leucorrhea is gray and has a fishy smell, it is more common in bacterial genital diseases.

3. Severe gynecological diseases.

In mild cases, bloody leucorrhea may be due to benign diseases such as cervical polyps, submucosal myomas, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and senile female vulvar inflammation; in severe cases, it may be due to malignant tumors such as cervical cancer and endometrial cancer; the placement of an intrauterine contraceptive device can also cause a small amount of bloody leucorrhea; continuous discharge of rice-washing water-like leucorrhea with a foul odor is generally due to advanced cervical cancer, female vulvar cancer, or submucosal myoma with infection; paroxysmal discharge of yellow or red watery leucorrhea may be due to fallopian tube cancer. Therefore, bloody or watery leucorrhea is likely to be a manifestation of a serious gynecological disease, and it is best to see a doctor immediately.

4. Gonorrhea.

If the amount of vaginal discharge increases, is yellowish and purulent, and is accompanied by a burning sensation in the vulva, and even urinary pain, frequent urination, or difficulty urinating, be careful of a gonorrhea attack. Gonorrhea is a relatively serious sexually transmitted disease and should be treated promptly at the STD department.
