We all know that women's menstruation flows out of their uterus. It is a process of shedding and renewing the inner wall of the uterus. Therefore, there will definitely be some changes in the uterus before menstruation. Women may feel chest pain and abdominal pain in advance, and there may also be some red vaginal discharge. So what changes are there in the uterus before menstruation? The uterus will be larger than usual, and professionals such as doctors can feel it more clearly. Because after one menstruation, the endometrium begins a new round of proliferation and repair, and this proliferation and repair reaches its peak before the next menstruation, so the uterus will become larger and harder. This situation is normal. If there is no fertilization, the endometrium will be shed under the action of estrogen and progesterone in the body, which is the onset of menstruation. After that, a new round of proliferation and repair begins. Menstruation is regular, cyclical uterine bleeding. It is also called menstruation, menstrual period, menstrual period, and menstrual leave. Strictly speaking, along with this bleeding, there should be maturation of follicles, ovulation and formation of corpus luteum in the ovaries, and changes in the endometrium from proliferation to secretion. So will the uterus become larger during menstruation? There are both physiological and pathological reasons for the enlargement of a woman's uterus during menstruation. Generally, the uterus will enlarge due to uterine congestion during menstruation, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. Regardless of when you cannot see your uterus, there is generally no change before your period except for thickening of the endometrium, but you may have premenstrual symptoms. It is related to the increase in the total estrogen/progesterone ratio, which may affect mental state, abdominal pain, headache, breast tenderness, etc. The process of menstruation is: First, the ovaries begin to secrete estrogen before ovulation, stimulating the thickening of the endometrium. Then after the ovary releases the egg, the follicle itself will turn into a corpus luteum, secreting progesterone to continue thickening and congestion of the endometrium. Finally, if the egg is not fertilized after being released, the corpus luteum will slowly shrink. The ovaries can only secrete a small amount of estrogen and progesterone, so that the endometrium cannot maintain its status quo and peels off. The blood and broken mucosa are discharged from the uterine cavity through the vagina. This is "menstruation". |
