Is twin miscarriage harmful?

Abortion is a surgery that many female friends have to choose as a last resort. It is mainly performed on women who have unexpected pregnancy, abnormal pregnancy, or fetal problems. As we all know, abortion can cause great harm to women. For example, it can lead to incomplete abortion, infection, menstrual disorders, heavy bleeding and other dangerous situations. For mothers of twins, the risk of abortion is even greater.

1. Overview

Termination of pregnancy before 28 weeks of gestation and with a fetal weight of less than 1000g is called abortion. Abortion that occurs before 12 weeks of pregnancy is called early abortion, and abortion that occurs between 12 weeks and less than 28 weeks of pregnancy is called late abortion. Abortion is divided into spontaneous abortion and induced abortion. The incidence of spontaneous abortion accounts for about 15% of all pregnancies, and most of them are early abortions. There are also two specific types of miscarriage: missed miscarriage and habitual miscarriage.

Second, the harm of abortion:

1. Incomplete abortion: There is residual pregnancy tissue, vaginal bleeding continues or there is a small amount of bleeding.

2. Post-abortion infection: fever, foul-smelling vaginal discharge, tenderness in the uterus and appendages. This is a common hazard of painless abortion.

3. Cervical or uterine adhesions: After painless abortion, symptoms include amenorrhea or infrequent menstruation.

4. Menstrual disorders: Ovulation after painless abortion or poor corpus luteum formation after ovulation, resulting in menstrual disorders.

5. Heavy bleeding during painless abortion surgery: cervical tear, uterine perforation, due to cervical inflammation, poor elasticity and brittleness of fibrous tissue, or technical problems.

6. Abortion syndrome: Since painless abortion reduces excessive stimulation of the vagus nerve, it can avoid the occurrence of abortion syndrome, such as pale complexion, sweating, dizziness, chest tightness, slowed heartbeat, and low blood pressure.

3. Signs of miscarriage:

The main signs of miscarriage are vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain (mainly caused by uterine contractions). If a pregnant mother finds that she has a small amount of vaginal bleeding, slight pain in the lower abdomen, or feels soreness in the waist, this may be a precursor to miscarriage and is also a "danger signal" sent by the baby.

At this time, expectant mothers do not need to be too nervous. The best way is to rest in bed. If the situation does not improve but becomes serious, medical attention should be sought promptly.
