The cervix is an important part of the female reproductive system and is also a part that is more prone to lesions. Once the cervix is diseased, it will not only cause a series of health problems in women, but in severe cases, it will even affect women's fertility. Therefore, for various problems with the cervix, measures must be taken in time to solve them. So, what are the causes of an immature cervix?
1. This may be because your ovulation is late or the sperm implantation is late, so it will exceed the expected date of delivery. No need to worry. If you want to give birth at that time, you can also give yourself an injection to induce labor. Immaturity means that the cervix has not yet thinned and the cervix has not yet opened. 2. It is recommended that you pay attention to rest, ensure adequate sleep, eat a healthy diet, have a balanced nutrition, and walk more often. If the cervix still does not open, it is best to have a caesarean section. Cervical maturity test refers to the use of ultrasound to measure the cervix or perineal examination to check the condition of the cervix during pregnancy to determine whether labor is imminent. It is an important method for obstetric screening and prediction of premature birth. Cervical ripening refers to the softening, shortening, disappearance and dilation of the cervix before labor begins. Currently, the Bishop cervical maturity score is mainly used in medicine to examine the cervical maturity of pregnant women, which can predict the delivery time of pregnant women and whether they have entered the labor stage.
1. Prostaglandin preparations If the cervical score is < 6, cervical ripening should be performed. The commonly used drugs to promote cervical ripening are mainly prostaglandin preparations. The main mechanisms by which PG promotes cervical ripening are: first, it softens the cervix by changing the composition of the cervical extracellular matrix, such as activating collagenase, dissolving collagen fibers and increasing the matrix; second, it affects the cervical and uterine smooth muscles, causing the cervical smooth muscles to relax, the cervix to dilate, the uterine smooth muscles to contract, and the cervix to stretch; third, it promotes the formation of gap junctions between uterine smooth muscle cells. The prostaglandin preparations used clinically are: (1) PGE2 preparations, such as vaginal suppositories (controlled-release dinoprostone suppositories, trade name: Probeson); (2) PGE1 preparations, such as misoprostol. The above drugs are all used in Western countries to promote cervical ripening. Controlled-release dinoprostone suppositories have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the China Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) for use in late pregnancy to promote cervical ripening before induction of labor. Misoprostol is widely used to promote cervical ripening. my country and the United States have conducted a lot of research on it, proving that it is safe and effective when used properly. In 2003, the US FDA deleted the clause prohibiting the use of misoprostol in late pregnancy. 2. Other methods It is mainly mechanical dilation, and there are many types, including low-position water bags, Foleys tubes, kelp strips, seaweed sticks, etc. It can only be used when there is no vaginal infection and the fetal membrane is intact. It mainly promotes the softening and maturation of the cervical canal by mechanically stimulating the cervical canal and promoting the synthesis and release of local endogenous prostaglandins in the cervix. Its disadvantages are the possibility of potential infection, premature rupture of membranes, and cervical injury.
① Due to the contraction of the uterine muscles, the uterus is pulled upward; ② As the fetus descends, the presenting part exerts a wedge-like effect on the cervix; ③ The cervix has a sphincter-like function. When not pregnant, the uterine body muscles contract actively. During pregnancy, the opposite is true, with the uterine limb muscles contracting actively. During delivery, the uterine body contraction is active and dominant. This autonomic contraction is regulated by the nerves, body, and endocrine system. |
