How many days does it take for colposcopy to produce results?

The intravaginal optical microscope is a medical device used clinically to examine whether there are any changes in the cervix, vagina, and private tissues. The device is mainly composed of an optical microscope, a waterproof casing, an optical microscope table and a storage rack. Its key advantage lies in helping the biopsy to adopt precise positioning and improve the detection rate of biopsy.

How long does it take for colposcopy results to come out? This is a colposcopy. At that time, the results of the colposcopy can be obtained, such as whether there is milky lesions, the severity of the milky lesions, and the results observed by the person performing the colposcopy. After 5 to 7 days, a pathophysiological result can be obtained, that is, the colposcopy biopsy, the results of pathophysiology and histological examination after the puncture biopsy. Therefore, it is divided into two parts.

Development Trends History

The use of colposcopy began in 1925 (Hinselman), but due to the small magnification (10-40) times, the cells could not be seen. In recent years, it has been improved to use intravaginal optical microscope. In 1934, Pick reported on the diagnosis of cervical cancer using this method at the International Gynecological Congress in Spain. In 1949, Antoine and Gurnberger also began to use it successfully, and in 1956 they created a map, which was then gradually used in Scandinavia, Japan and other countries.

Basic structure

It is generally composed of an observation system and a lighting system. The observation system is a short working distance stereo optical microscope system with an eyepiece and an objective lens, which can be connected to an external image collection and display device. Use the microscope to magnify the basic principles, position and direction key points.

1. Optical microscope: can be magnified 280 times and has a light attached to it.

2. Waterproof cannula: Immediately place it into the vagina, close to the cervix. There is an 8mm diameter circle on the waterproof casing lens, marking the inspectable area, and the diameter of the waterproof casing is 30mm.

3. Optical microscope stage: The optical microscope is placed on it, with large and small lens focal length adjustments, and the line of sight can be moved forward, backward, left and right, but its range does not exceed the 8mm diameter circle on the waterproof casing camera lens.

4. Storage rack: fix the microscope, and the position of the microscope can be adjusted to facilitate insertion into the female vagina.

Inspection method

First, examine the vagina to determine whether an intravaginal microscope can be used, then place a speculum, wipe off the mucus with dilute acetic acid, and use cotton wool to dip in a hematoxylin solution (Mayer's Hematoxylin) to color the cervix for 3-5 minutes until the cervix turns light purple. Wipe off the remaining stain, remove the speculum, and expose the cervix with an angled retractor. The waterproof sleeve is disinfected with medical alcohol and inserted into the vagina after it dries. Place the circle on the casing directly against the part of the cervix to be inspected, shine a strong flashlight directly on it, and make sure that the inspection position is within the circle again. Remove bubbles, move the holder, place the microscope into the casing, connect it to the casing, fix the holder, turn on the flashlight, and you can start the inspection.

Application Standards

1. The patient has no narrow vagina, so the waterproof sleeve can be inserted smoothly.

2. There is no adhesion on the vaginal lips and the cervix can be exposed.

3. There is no cervical bleeding, otherwise what you hear under the microscope is a layer of red blood cells, which hinders the examination of cervical tissue.
