Differentiating between ovulation bleeding and menstruation

The ovulation period is an important time. Sometimes there is bleeding during the ovulation period, but because women are careless, they think it is menstruation and do not take it seriously. About 14 days before menstruation comes, people who are trying to get pregnant should pay attention during this time, usually the first five days and the last four days. Ovulation bleeding is caused by the shedding of the endometrium. The amount of bleeding is relatively small, but if it is severe, the amount of bleeding will be relatively large.

What is ovulation bleeding?

During the middle of the menstrual cycle, that is, during ovulation, due to a brief drop in estrogen levels, the endometrium loses hormonal support and some endometrium sheds, causing regular vaginal bleeding, which is called ovulation bleeding. However, it is difficult for many women to have such a keen eye for the period or even before and after the menstrual period. In fact, women's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period.

Ovulation bleeding is a phenomenon that every female friend may experience. Generally, the amount of bleeding is very small and cannot be observed with the naked eye, but some people will have obvious bleeding symptoms, and the severity cannot be generalized.

The main cause of ovulation bleeding is that after the mature follicle ruptures and ovulates, the estrogen level drops sharply, which cannot maintain the growth of the endometrium, causing local ulceration and shedding of the surface layer of the endometrium, resulting in breakthrough bleeding.

Vaginal bleeding visible to the naked eye may last for several hours, or 3 to 5 days, but rarely for more than 7 days. In severe cases, it may continue to occur until the next menstrual period. Some women have very little bleeding, which stops with a few drops, or there is blood mixed in the vagina. Generally, it rarely reaches the amount of menstruation. Bleeding may be accompanied by distension and discomfort, dull pain or obvious pain in one side of the lower abdomen, and may even involve the waist and inner thigh. Symptoms may occur continuously every month or every other month. For some people, they occur for several months each year, while for others, they only experience this phenomenon once in their lifetime.

The time of ovulation.

For women with regular menstrual periods, ovulation occurs within 10 days. A healthy woman will ovulate once in each menstrual cycle. The day when a woman ovulates is called the "ovulation day". Counting 5 days before the ovulation day and 4 days after the ovulation day, plus the ovulation day, this is the ovulation period of about 10 days for women. Therefore, the ovulation period for most normal women is 10 days.

Of course, not every woman's ovulation period is stable at 10 days. Factors including emotional changes, changes in eating habits, and lifestyle habits can affect women's ovulation. The pace of modern life is constantly accelerating, which has led to changes in the ovulation period of many women. If a woman who usually has a regular daily routine suddenly changes it due to work or other reasons, it will be difficult for the body to make timely adjustments, which will lead to endocrine disorders, the menstrual period will be advanced or delayed, and the ovulation period will also change accordingly. Therefore, the ovulation period of 10 days is only calculated according to the standard value. In real life, a woman's ovulation period is generally less than 10 days, and the time is not fixed.
