Normal reference value of HCG:

The normal value of blood HCG is <10μg/L, and the normal value of β-HCG is <3.1μg/L.

The absolute values ​​of serum HCG vary greatly at different stages of pregnancy and between pregnant women, that is, they are different from person to person and are not comparable, and can only be compared within themselves. Generally, non-pregnant women’s blood HCG is <100IU/L. During the first 3 months of pregnancy, HCG levels approximately double every 2.2±0.5 days.

HCG examination method and its clinical significance

Currently, the following three measurement methods are commonly used in clinical practice: enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) screening method, sandwich enzyme immunoassay method, and immune colloidal gold method. These methods have good sensitivity, low cost, and fast detection, and are widely used in clinical practice.

The examination of HCG is of great significance for the diagnosis of early pregnancy, and has certain value in the diagnosis, differentiation and course observation of pregnancy-related diseases, trophoblastic tumors and other diseases. Diagnosis of early pregnancy: HCG can rise to greater than 2500IU/L 35-50 days after pregnancy. It can reach 80 million IU/L in 60-70 days. The urine HCG level in women with multiple pregnancies is usually higher than that in women with single pregnancies.
