What is vaginal bleeding during 32 weeks of pregnancy?

What is vaginal bleeding during 32 weeks of pregnancy?

When a woman is 32 weeks pregnant, it is generally considered the late stage of pregnancy. The fetal position of women in the late stage of pregnancy is generally relatively stable. During this period, women are mainly in a state of being in labor. However, accidents in life are often unpredictable. Some women experience symptoms of vaginal bleeding at 32 weeks of pregnancy. This situation is related to many factors. What is going on?

1. Postpartum hemorrhage

If the placenta is attached to the lower part of the uterus or covers the internal os of the cervix and is lower than the presenting part of the fetus, it is called placenta previa. In complete placenta previa, the first bleeding often occurs early, around 28 weeks of pregnancy, and the bleeding is frequent and the amount is large. Sometimes a single large bleeding can put the patient into shock. In marginal placenta previa, the first bleeding occurs later, usually between 37 and 40 weeks of pregnancy or after labor, and the amount is also less. In partial placenta previa, the time of first bleeding and the amount of bleeding are between the above two. For patients with partial or marginal placenta previa, rupture of membranes is beneficial to the compression of the placenta by the fetal presenting part. If the fetal presenting part can descend quickly after rupture of membranes and directly compress the placenta, the bleeding can stop. Due to repeated or heavy vaginal bleeding, the patient may develop anemia. The degree of anemia is proportional to the amount of bleeding. Severe bleeding may cause shock, fetal hypoxia, distress, or even death. It is recommended to seek medical attention and take measures, or seek medical attention quickly and promptly if problems such as bleeding and discomfort occur.

2. Pathological

Bleeding in early pregnancy is relatively common. If a small amount of vaginal bleeding occurs after 12 weeks of pregnancy, it is mostly pathological and should be taken seriously. Generally, there are the following reasons: threatened abortion, placenta previa, placental abruption, vaginal and cervical lesions. If vaginal bleeding occurs during pregnancy, whether or not you have abdominal pain, you should go to the hospital immediately to determine the cause of the bleeding to avoid delaying treatment.

3. Others

Minor bleeding caused by embryo implantation. Generally speaking, women will stop menstruating after pregnancy and will no longer have their periods. If vaginal bleeding occurs, it may be minor bleeding caused by embryo implantation. Of course, not every expectant mother will encounter this situation, but if you do, don't panic too much and consult a doctor in time.
