Are uterine fibroids a tumor?

Although uterine fibroids are classified as tumors, they are not that scary. They are a benign tumor and are relatively common in daily life. Common symptoms of this disease include irregular menstruation, excessive secretions, and discomfort in the lower abdomen. Generally speaking, if the condition is not serious, no treatment is required. If the condition is serious or the symptoms are obvious, surgery or medication may be needed for treatment. Generally speaking, girls under 20 years old rarely suffer from uterine fibroids. The disease is more common between 30 and 50 years old, and most cases are mild, so patients do not need to have too heavy a mental burden. However, as time goes by, the tumors in the uterus may become more and more numerous or larger, which may cause infertility. Women of childbearing age should be extra careful.

Symptoms of uterine fibroids

1. Irregular menstrual period. The most significant performance is the increase in total flow and cycle time. Uterine fibroids may change the shape and volume of the uterus, affect the normal function of the muscles, and cause compression on the blood vessels, affecting the bleeding during menstruation.

2. Hard lumps in the lower abdomen. As the uterine fibroids in the uterus expand, the patient can feel a noticeable swollen mass from the outside of the lower abdomen. The volume of the lower abdomen will gradually increase, accompanied by a noticeable feeling of heaviness and pain.

3. Abnormal leucorrhea. The patient's secretions will increase significantly, and become increasingly viscous and have a strong odor. Sometimes, tissue similar to rotten flesh may be discharged, with a pungent smell.

4. Urgent, frequent urination or difficulty urinating. The growth of uterine fibroids may compress the bladder or urethra, causing many abnormal phenomena during urination.

5. Abdominal and body discomfort. Women with uterine fibroids usually feel pain in the lower abdomen, which then develops into back pain or general fatigue, which becomes more serious during menstruation.

6. Infertility. If a woman's uterine fibroids compress or block both fallopian tubes, the probability of pregnancy will be greatly reduced.

7. Secondary anemia. Long-term long menstrual duration and irregular menstrual quality can easily cause anemia in patients, causing fatigue, dizziness, panic and many other discomforts.

8. Low blood sugar. This condition is very rare and will disappear immediately after the tumor is removed. The patient will feel obvious dizziness or even shock when on an empty stomach, which will gradually improve after injecting a little glucose.
