How to remove cervical polyps

How to remove cervical polyps

Cervical cyst is a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Due to inflammation and long-term irritation, the mucosa of the cervical canal proliferates, and the proliferative mucosa protrudes from the base end to the external os of the cervix to form a cyst.

There are two types: one is a cyst coming from the cervical mucosa, and the other is a cyst coming from the part of the cervix and vagina. They can be rotating or multiple, of varying sizes, and have the possibility of worsening. Once diagnosed, cervical cyst removal should be performed.

The usual surgical treatment is resection or electrosurgical resection. Small polyps can be removed with a vascular forceps. Pinch the cyst stalk with the forceps and rotate it in one direction to remove it, which will activate the blood circulation. For thicker ones, the ends of the base material are burned after being removed to promote blood circulation. If the tumor is multiple, a diagnostic curettage can be performed after dilating the cervix and scraping it.

Sonographic diagnosis of cervical cyst:

(1) Single or multiple low-echo, low-medium or slightly high-echo in the cervical canal;

(2) Clear boundaries, standard shape, and symmetrical or uneven internal echoes;

(3) There is a pedicle connected to the cervical canal or muscularis mucosa.

(4) Smaller cysts may appear as a “pendent” sign in the cervix;

(5) There may be blood accumulation around the mass;

(6) A large mass may penetrate into the female vagina or enter the vagina through the external cervical opening;

(7) Color Doppler blood imaging shows rich and colorful long strips of blood signals from deep inside the pedicle of the tumor; (8) Single pulse Doppler band shape is the aorta.

Excessive leucorrhea, vaginal bleeding, abnormal yellow leucorrhea, vaginal bleeding after menopause, and vaginal lumps and prolapses in singles. B-ultrasound examination was used, and the cervical canal space-occupying mass was found, and pathological examination was a fibroepithelial cell type cervical cyst.
