At what age does a woman enter menopause?

Generally speaking, as women age, their body functions decline, especially their ovarian function gradually degenerates and their basic ovarian functions disappear. This is commonly known as menopause in medicine. Women's menopause is generally around the age of 50. Some women think that it is a good thing to have no menstruation after menopause, but in fact, if menopause comes very early, it will lead to an increased mortality rate.

The research results show that there are large individual differences in the age of menopause in women. Generally speaking, the most important factor that determines the age of menopause in women is the number of oocytes. When every baby girl is born, her ovaries have approximately one million oocytes. As she ages, the number of oocytes in her body gradually decreases. When the number of oocytes decreases to a critical number, menopause will occur, which is the menopausal age for the woman.

Data show that the average menopause age for women in different regions varies. It is 52 years old for women in Europe and the United States, 50 years old for women in Asia, and 48 years old for women in Africa. In addition, the average menopause age for women in dry and cold areas is earlier than that for women in warm and humid areas; the average menopause age for women in high-altitude areas is earlier than that for women in low-altitude areas.

Generally speaking, women who are short, underweight, and malnourished will reach menopause 3-4 years earlier than women who are strong, well-nourished, and of moderate weight; women with chronic wasting diseases, endocrine abnormalities, and metabolic disorders will reach menopause earlier than healthy women of the same age; women with disharmonious sex lives, unhappy marital relationships, and long-term depression will also reach menopause relatively early.

So, if a woman who has passed the average age of menopause but has not yet reached menopause has normal cycles, normal menstrual volume, and no obvious discomfort symptoms, it is mostly normal. To a certain extent, it can ensure that the female body becomes younger and younger, or at least will not age very quickly, so you should be happy about it.
