What are the treatments for cervical erosion adnexitis?

Cervical erosion and adnexitis are both common gynecological diseases. Although there are no strong symptoms in the early stages, the body will still feel uncomfortable. The disease can be diagnosed by going to the hospital for a gynecological examination. After the disease is confirmed, a treatment plan is formulated based on the severity of the disease, so that the disease can be controlled and prevented from worsening. So what are the treatments for cervical erosion and adnexitis? Let's analyze the main treatments for the two diseases below.

Treatment of cervical erosion:

1. Drug treatment - less side effects, more suitable for women who have not given birth. The most common drugs for treating cervical erosion abroad are Shadier Gel, Huijian combination, and external medication Xiaomi suppositories, which are effective but relatively expensive.

1. Carefully apply 10-30% silver nitrate solution or 10% iodine to the affected area with a cotton swab. After using silver nitrate, apply normal saline to convert excess silver nitrate into non-corrosive silver chloride. Take twice a week, 4 to 6 times as a course of treatment, and repeat if necessary.

2. Use a cotton swab to dip in potassium dichromate solution and carefully apply it to the affected area. Apply the medicine once after the menstruation is over and repeat it after the next menstruation. It is sometimes more effective for those with larger erosion areas. Before applying the medicine, wipe the cervical mucus with 0.1% chlorhexidine, and place two cotton balls in the posterior fornix to prevent the medicine from flowing down and burning the vaginal mucosa. After finishing, take out the cotton ball and wipe the applied area with a 75% alcohol cotton swab (formula: 10g potassium dichromate, 75ml concentrated sulfuric acid, add water to 100ml).

2. Physical therapy - suitable for patients with moderate and severe cervical erosion. Commonly used methods include electric ironing, laser therapy, and cryotherapy. The disadvantage is that the side effects are large and may cause the nerve sensitivity of the vaginal wall to decrease, affecting the quality of sexual life. In addition, it is easy to relapse after being cured.

Treatment of adnexitis:

Western medicine treatment

1. Antibiotic treatment

For patients with obvious symptoms, antibiotics should be used as the first choice for treatment. Antibiotics can kill any remaining pathogenic bacteria and prevent acute attacks. Commonly used drugs are still penicillin, gentamicin, metronidazole, etc., and the usage is the same as that for acute salpingo-oophoritis and pelvic peritonitis.

2. Tissue therapy

Such as placental tissue fluid and placental globulin, intramuscular injection, once a day or every other day, 15 times as a course of treatment.

3. Physical therapy

The benign stimulation of warmth can promote pelvic blood circulation, improve the nutritional status of local tissues, and facilitate the absorption and disappearance of inflammation. Commonly used physical therapies include short wave, ultrashort wave, infrared, audio, ion penetration, etc. However, do not use physical therapy if the body temperature exceeds 37.5℃ or if you have genital tuberculosis.

4. Other drug treatments

Intrauterine injection can be used to treat fallopian tube obstruction caused by chronic salpingitis. Use 160,000 units of gentamicin, 5 mg of α-chymotrypsin, and 5 mg of dexamethasone, dilute them with 20 ml of normal saline, strictly disinfect the vulva, vagina, and cervix, and then inject into the uterine cavity. Start 3 days after the menstruation ends, and inject once every 2 days until before ovulation. The treatment can be continued for 3 cycles. You can also use Oqins directly for treatment.

5. Surgery

Larger hydrosalpinx or tubo-ovarian cysts caused by inflammation can be treated surgically. For those who are infertile due to fallopian tube obstruction, fallopian tube repair surgery can be performed. For chronic salpingo-oophoritis and pelvic peritonitis with repeated acute attacks, when drug treatment is not effective, the patient is in great pain, and the patient is older, surgical treatment may also be considered.

The treatment methods for cervical erosion adnexitis are formulated according to the symptoms of the disease. At the same time, other discomfort symptoms should be checked and treatment can be taken at the same time to achieve the goal of controlling the disease. Patients should take good care of themselves during treatment. It is best not to have sexual intercourse at this time, and they should not use clothes that are contaminated with germs or are dirty. They should wash their genitals every day and pay attention to their recovery. If any abnormal characteristics are found, they should make their own judgment first. If they cannot confirm, they can go to the hospital for examination.
