What are the clinical manifestations of cervical cysts?

Women should know some of the symptoms of cervical cysts, but they are not particularly clear about them. In addition, cysts are generally more serious and may even become cancerous, so a detailed understanding of the specific clinical reactions can play an extremely critical role in the prevention and treatment of the disease. Today, the editor will explain this issue in detail. Please read the following content.

The signs of cervical cysts are bulging at the fundus or posterior wall of the uterus, with a local cystic sensation. It can be divided into three types: subserosal, intramural and submucosal. If it is a pedunculated submucosal cyst, it can sometimes protrude outside the cervical os. Some cervical cysts can grow very large, protruding from the surface of the cervix and even reaching the vaginal opening. The root is connected to the cervix by a pedicle and is often accompanied by cervical hypertrophy. During the examination, you can see multiple bluish-white vesicles (not purple) of varying sizes protruding from the surface of the cervix. They contain mucus, some as big as rice grains and some as big as corn kernels.

Pathological examination of cervical cysts shows that the cyst wall originating from the mesonephric duct is mostly composed of columnar or stratified squamous epithelium. The cyst wall originating from the paramesonephric duct is mostly composed of ciliated columnar epithelium. Congenital uterine cysts generally have no obvious subjective symptoms, but sometimes a lump can be felt in the lower abdomen. In addition, the symptoms of cervical cysts often include lower urinary tract symptoms, such as urgency, frequency, and pain when urinating. Gynecological examination revealed cervical congestion, edema, and mucosal eversion. Symptoms of cervical cysts also include purulent secretions flowing out of the cervical canal, tenderness, and brittleness of the cervix, which bleeds easily when touched. It is an infection with Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Due to the involvement of the paraurethral glands and Bartholin's glands, symptoms of cervical cysts include congestion and edema of the urethral and vaginal opening mucosa, as well as a large amount of purulent secretions.

Here I have finished explaining the symptoms that cervical cysts may cause. Since the body’s reaction is not very obvious at the beginning of the disease, I suggest that all female friends should develop the habit of regular check-ups and be sure to maintain good hygiene of the genitals to prevent the disease from worsening without knowing it.
