What causes vaginal itching in women?

1. Toxoplasmosis

Female friends experience itching in the private parts and vulva, itching in the urethra, and foam-like discharge, often accompanied by a unique odor. After scratching, they also experience eczematous changes of vulvar dermatitis. Acid-fast staining of female secretions can be used to distinguish it from other diseases.

2. Candidal vaginitis

Female friends may experience itching in the private parts, vulva, vaginal opening, urethral opening, redness in the private parts, dregs-like leucorrhea, and a strong odor. Scratching may cause eczematous changes in the vulvar dermatitis.

3. Some skin is not clean

Some women use handkerchiefs improperly, and the vulva skin is soaked by menstruation, female secretions, and even urine, feces and sweat, which causes local skin inflammation, resulting in vulva itching and urethral itching.

4. Drug allergy

Women with allergic constitutions may experience itching after taking some drugs, which often occurs at the junction of the vulvar skin and mucosa. In addition to local itching, it may also be complicated by erosion and exudate. Using medicines for vaginal cleaning or vaginal insertion in women, if allergic symptoms and contact dermatitis occur, it can also cause vulvar itching and urethral itching.

What should women do if their vagina is itchy?

1. Ensure sleep quality, release stress, and do appropriate exercise.

2. Actively treat medical diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, etc. that can cause or aggravate skin itching.

3. Wear loose cotton and gauze clothes to avoid friction between fiber clothes and skin, and to avoid irritation to skin caused by static electricity from clothes. It is recommended to clean newly bought underwear before wearing to avoid skin allergies caused by chemical residues in the garment factory process.

4. Eat more whole grains in your diet, such as oatmeal, black rice, corn, winter melon, whole wheat toast, etc., which can supplement B vitamins and strengthen the skin. Jujube, wolfberry, and various dried fruits have the effect of nourishing qi, blood, tonifying yin, and nourishing the skin, so you can eat them in moderation. Stimulating foods will deplete Yin fluid and aggravate dry skin; fishy and wind-inducing foods such as beef and seafood will increase skin itching, so it is recommended to eat less or not eat them.
