Many women will find that their breasts have shrunk to varying degrees after giving birth. Sometimes they will find wrinkles on the breast skin. This may be caused by varying degrees of breast sagging. Therefore, you should pay attention to observation and seek timely treatment. In fact, breast sagging can be divided into many types according to its severity. Below, the editor will introduce some specific methods and reasons for women to judge breast sagging in daily life. Types of Breast Sagging 1. Breast ptosis degree: There are generally four types: mild sagging, moderate sagging, severe sagging, and extremely severe sagging. Mild sagging: The lower pole of the breast exceeds the inframammary fold by 1-2 cm Moderate ptosis: The lower pole of the breast exceeds the inframammary fold by 2-3 cm Severe ptosis: The lower pole of the breast exceeds the inframammary fold by 4-10 cm Extremely severe ptosis: The lower pole of the breast exceeds the inframammary fold by more than 10 cm 2. Appearance of sagging breasts: There are generally three types: spindle-shaped breast ptosis, triangular-shaped breast ptosis and horn-shaped breast ptosis. Fusiform breast ptosis is a type of breast ptosis characterized by shortening of the transverse diameter of the breast base. The circular coronal plane at the base of the breast is smaller than the coronal plane at the distal end of the breast, resembling a spindle, hence the name spindle-shaped breast ptosis. This type of breast ptosis deformity is caused by the herniation of breast tissue into the subcutaneous area of the areola, and is often accompanied by large areola syndrome. It is more common in young and middle-aged women after breastfeeding. Bandana breast ptosis is a condition in which the entire breast becomes flat, like a bandana hanging on the chest wall, hence the name. The coronal plane of the breast base is an oblong shape, the longitudinal diameter of the breast is larger than the transverse diameter, and there is no obvious herniation of breast tissue into the subcutaneous tissue of the areola area. It is more common in middle-aged and elderly women, especially postmenopausal women. In horn-like sagging breasts, the coronal plane of the breast base and the distal coronal plane are basically equal, or the distal end is slightly smaller, the longitudinal diameter of the breast is longer, the nipple is located at the lower line of the breast, and the appearance is like a horn. The fiber and fat tissue in the breast are relatively increased, the mammary tissue is less, the breast feels denser, and the skin elasticity is better. This type of sagging breasts is more common in young women. Causes of sagging breasts 1. Internal reasons 1. Breast sagging caused by breastfeeding Generally, after breastfeeding stops, due to the decrease in hormone levels, the mammary alveolar ducts, glands and adipose tissue will atrophy, while the skin and supporting tissue will increase accordingly, which will cause breast sagging. 2. Weight loss causes sagging breasts This is caused by losing weight too quickly, which causes the fat tissue and skin in the breast to become loose. More common in young and middle-aged women. 3. Breast sagging in the elderly As people age, their various functions decline, including their endocrine functions. Breast sagging in the elderly is caused by the obvious degeneration and atrophy of the skin, supporting tissues, fat and glands, so the breasts appear to be sagging like empty cysts. (II) External causes 1. Excessive dieting and insufficient protein intake When the body is in a state of hunger for a long time, it thinks it has entered a famine era and will inevitably mobilize stored fat and protein to cope with it. One of the main structural components of the breast is fat and collagen. The chest fat decreases, the skin becomes loose, and the chest muscles are lost. Malnutrition causes the glandular tissue to atrophy, and the overall chest tissue decreases. However, the connective tissue connecting the chest muscles and breasts does not decrease accordingly, so the breasts become smaller and sag. In order to prevent the breasts from becoming smaller and sagging during weight loss, you should eat high-protein foods and supplement with vitamins A, B, C, E, minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, etc. to provide the breasts with sufficient nutrition and maintain a balanced hormone level, which can make the breasts full and firm. 2. Like to wash with very hot water Avoid using hot water to irritate the breasts when taking a bath, and don't soak in hot water for a long time. Otherwise, it will burn the stratum corneum on the surface of the skin, making the skin drier and drier, and the soft tissue of the breast more and more loose. The water temperature for bathing should be around 27 degrees. 3. Like to use a shower head to wash breasts Inappropriate bathing methods, such as frequently using water to impact the nipples, may cause excessive burden on the breasts due to improper inflation, especially when impacting the ligaments of the breasts, which may cause sagging breasts. Therefore, prevention and protection of the breast ligaments should be carried out in daily life. |
