What are the methods for checking breast lumps?

Women should take good care of their breasts. Breasts are prone to many diseases, the most common of which are breast hyperplasia and mastitis. These diseases are very easy to get, especially for married women. What should you do if there are lumps in your breasts? You should check them first so that you can have some understanding of your specific situation. Women can also do self-examination. The following is a detailed introduction to the method.

How to check for breast lumps:

① Check in the shower: When the water is constantly rushing over your body in the shower, use your left hand to check the right breast and your right hand to check the left breast. Place your fingers flat on each part of the breast and slide them slowly to check for lumps, nodules or thickened areas.

② Check in the mirror: Face the mirror, let your arms hang down at both sides, then raise them above your head. Carefully observe the shape and size of each breast, whether there are any swelling, depressions or wrinkles, and whether there are any changes in the nipples. Then place your palms together under your chest and push with force. This will make the concave and folds on the breasts most visible. Finally, support your hips with your palms, press down to relax your chest muscles, and then observe. In addition, if you find that the nipples on both sides are not on the same horizontal line when standing, or one side of the nipple is tilted upward, tilted to one side, or retracted inward, it is also a suspicious sign.

③ Examination while lying down: Remove the pillow and lie flat on the bed. Place a pillow under your right shoulder when examining the left breast. Place your left hand under your head to distribute the breast tissue more evenly across your chest. Do not use your thumb when touching, because using your thumb will create a pinching motion and can easily create a wrong feeling. Therefore, you should put the other four fingers together and straighten them, and gently touch them with the palm of each finger. The fingertips are most sensitive to touch when lightly touched, and small lumps can be easily found. When touching, generally place your hand on the outermost circle of the breast at 12 o'clock, and then gently massage in a clockwise circle. Then, push 3 cm towards the nipple and massage in a clockwise direction until the entire breast is touched. Generally, after the inspection is completed, it should be rotated at least 4 times in a clockwise direction. After checking the left breast, check the right breast in the same way.

After understanding the examination methods for breast lumps, women can follow the above methods when examining breast lumps. However, if any discomfort occurs during the examination, the examination should be stopped immediately. At this time, they should go to the hospital in time to undergo other examinations so that they can have some understanding of their own condition.
