Why do women have frequent and urgent urination?

Urinary urgency and frequent urination are very common in life. The most common cause of urinary urgency and frequent urination in women is gynecological inflammation. It may also be caused by suddenly taking in a lot of water, such as drinking a lot of water or eating a lot of diuretic foods. It may also be that there are stones in the body, or it may be some temporary physical discomfort caused by lack of rest. So what is the reason for women's urgency and frequent urination?

1. Habitual holding of urine: Urine is a product of kidney metabolism and contains many metabolic wastes such as uric acid, urea and various toxic substances produced by the human body's metabolism. Due to the complex structure of organs in the abdominal cavity, the urinary system of women is extremely vulnerable to invasion by pathogens. Holding urine will not only affect bladder function and cause urinary tract infection, but also lead to symptoms such as frequent urination, hematuria, burning sensation of residual urine, lower abdominal discomfort or pain.

2. Increased urine volume: Under physiological conditions, such as drinking a lot of water, eating fruits, and drinking alcohol, when you consume more water, the urine volume will also increase, and the frequency of urination will also increase, resulting in frequent urination. Under pathological conditions, such as some patients with diabetes and diabetes insipidus, they drink a lot of water, urinate a lot, and urinate frequently, but they do not feel any discomfort when urinating.

3. Inflammatory stimulation: When there is inflammation in the bladder, the nerve perception threshold is lowered and the urinary center is often in an excited state, leading to frequent urination and reduced urine volume. Acute cystitis, tuberculous cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, vulvitis, etc. can all cause frequent urination and last for a long time. Under the stimulation of inflammation, frequent urination, urgency and pain often occur at the same time, which is medically called urinary tract irritation syndrome, commonly known as "triuria syndrome".

4. Non-inflammatory stimulation: such as urinary stones, foreign objects, sexual stimulation, etc. If women do not fully reach orgasm, they will go to the toilet frequently within a day afterwards.

5. Psychoneural frequent urination: Frequent urination only occurs during the day or before falling asleep at night. It is often caused by mental tension or occurs in patients with hysteria. You need to go to the hospital for further detailed examination to clarify the cause and carry out targeted and effective treatment.

6. Reduced bladder capacity: Diseases such as bladder space-occupying lesions, compression from the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder contracture, or large bladder stones can all cause frequent urination in women.

The above are the reasons why women have frequent urination and urgency. From the above, we can know that some are the consequences of physical problems, while some are caused by some bad habits, such as habitually holding urine. If this habit continues, it may cause more serious consequences, so these bad habits still need to be corrected as soon as possible.
