What are the symptoms of female vulvar eczema?

Skin diseases such as vulvar eczema are very common. Such diseases are mostly caused by inflammation. At the same time, they are also closely related to people's lack of attention to local hygiene. Vulvar eczema also has the phenomenon of repeated recurrence. Therefore, when treating such diseases, you must choose a more reliable treatment method, provided that you understand the symptoms. So, what are the symptoms of vulvar eczema in women?

1. Female vulvar eczema mostly occurs in the labia majora and inguinal cleft. The course of the disease is of varying lengths and the attacks are irregular. The symptoms are usually not obvious, but severe itching occurs when going to bed or when you are nervous. The accompanying itching may lead to secondary infection after scratching, resulting in local redness and small pus spots in the center of some rashes.

2. In the chronic stage, due to repeated scratching, a small amount of fluid will ooze out of the scratched area, and the disease will be prolonged and difficult to heal. It causes infiltration and hypertrophy in the epidermis and dermis, and rough skin. There may be lichenification, clear borders, and bran-like scales on the surface. It feels hard or has moist crusts. In severe cases, cracks may occur, and there is pain during movement. The skin appears brown or depigmented due to blood crusts and pigmentation.

3. The acute phase is mainly manifested by severe itching and diffuse redness of the vulva. The skin lesions are polymorphic without obvious boundaries. As the disease progresses, needle-sized papules, papulovesicles or small blisters appear on the skin surface, the base becomes congested, and the boundaries of the lesions are unclear. Then the erosion, edema and exudation worsen. Scratching due to burning and severe itching may damage the epidermis, leading to infection and scab formation, which may be accompanied by swollen inguinal lymph nodes, fever and general discomfort. If not treated properly, repeated attacks can prolong the course of the disease and turn it into a chronic condition.

Vulvar eczema is mainly characterized by exudative lesions. In the acute phase: there is edema in and between the prickle cells, sponge formation, blisters containing a small amount of lymphocytes, capillary dilation, a small amount of lymphocytes and tissue cells infiltrating around the blood vessels, serous exudation in the stratum corneum of the epidermis and scab formation.
