What should I do if my leucorrhea turns brown during pregnancy?

Expectant mothers are very happy when they are pregnant, but they must pay more attention to regular visits to the hospital for prenatal checkups during this stage, because some inflammation may occur during this stage. If the inflammation is not treated, it will affect the health of the baby in the future. If you find that the leucorrhea appears brown during this stage, and you don’t understand this situation very well, then let me explain it to you!

1. Fetal factors

Threatened abortion is mainly manifested by pregnancy bleeding and abdominal pain in early pregnancy. Generally, during the threatened abortion stage, vaginal bleeding is less and abdominal pain is mild.

Ectopic pregnancy usually causes vaginal bleeding about 40 days after amenorrhea, often accompanied by dull pain, bloating, and heaviness in the lower abdomen.

For hydatidiform mole, bleeding occurs later than in miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy, usually around 3 months.

2. Maternal Factors

Caused by gynecological inflammation, brown vaginal discharge in the early stages of pregnancy may also be caused by the mother suffering from vaginitis, cervical erosion, cervical polyps, endometrial lesions, tumors, etc.

3. Lifestyle Factors

Improper personal hygiene and not paying attention to personal hygiene in daily life can cause local infection, trigger bacterial infection, and induce abnormal leucorrhea.

Improper diet and privacy during pregnancy are related to the healthy development of the baby. If you eat spicy and irritating foods for a long time, it is easy to cause bacterial infection.

What tests should be done for brown vaginal discharge?

1. Microbiological examination

Microbiological examination mainly checks for Trichomonas and fungi. After the leucorrhea is processed, the presence of Trichomonas or fungi can be detected based on its morphology under a microscope.

2. pH value check

Experts say that the normal pH value of a woman's vagina is 4.5. When suffering from trichomoniasis or bacterial vaginitis, the pH value of leucorrhea will rise and may be greater than 5-6.

Women often ignore some diseases when they are pregnant, but if the disease is not treated in time, it will greatly affect the health of the baby in the future. So if you find that your leucorrhea has some brown color in the early stages of pregnancy, the editor recommends that you seek timely treatment for the health of your baby.
