Why does menstruation keep dripping?

Menstruation, also known as period, is a sign that every girl has fertility and is also a guarantee for the health of girls. When there are some problems with your menstruation, it means that you may be suffering from some disease. At this time, you should pay attention and go to the hospital immediately to see a doctor to check why. Therefore, whether menstruation is normal or not is also a sign of the health of our female friends.

Causes

1. Caused by neuroendocrine dysfunction: mainly due to unstable or defective function of the lower hindbrain-stomach-ovary axis, that is, menstrual disease.

2. Caused by organic diseases or drugs, including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities of the reproductive organs, malnutrition; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, etc.; liver diseases; blood diseases, etc. Menstrual irregularities may occur in women who use drugs to treat mental illnesses, endocrine preparations, or intrauterine devices for contraception. Certain occupations, such as long-distance runners, are prone to amenorrhea. In addition, some abnormal bleeding during pregnancy is often mistaken for menstrual irregularities.

In clinical diagnosis of neuroendocrine dysfunctional menstrual disorders, the above-mentioned organic causes must be excluded.

Diagnosis

1. Ask about the medical history in detail, find out the possible causes, and the patient should strive to provide accurate information.

2. Comprehensive physical examination to determine whether there are any serious systemic diseases.

3. Pelvic examination to initially understand whether there are any deformities, tumors or inflammation in the reproductive organs.

4. Auxiliary examination:

1. B-ultrasound examination: reflects the condition of the uterus, ovaries and pelvic cavity.

2. Cytological examination: Check ovarian function and exclude malignant lesions.

3. Biopsy: Determine the nature of the lesion, mostly used for the diagnosis of tumors.

4. Endocrine measurement: Currently, pituitary gonadotropin, prolactin, and hormones secreted by the ovaries, thyroid gland, and adrenal cortex can be measured.

Treatment and care

If the amount of bleeding is small and does not exceed seven days, no treatment is generally required. Does not affect pregnancy.

1. Western medicine treatment: Diethylstilbestrol 0.25-0.5 mg/day, start taking it 3 days before ovulation and stop taking it 2-3 days after the bleeding stops.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: Liuwei Dihuang Pills, Gujing Pills, and Xuefu Zhuyu Pills.

3. Maintenance: Pay attention to menstrual and postpartum care, keep the vulva clean, and prevent pelvic infection. Keep your mood happy and avoid excessive stress.
