During the pregnancy process, there are usually some other reactions, especially in the early stages of pregnancy, the reactions will be stronger. As time goes by, the reactions will gradually subside. Many women are pregnant for the first time and do not have much experience in pregnancy, so they do not know how to deal with these strong reactions. Let us now understand what reactions pregnant women have in the early stages of pregnancy? 1. Nausea and vomiting: It is the most common discomfort in the first two months of pregnancy. About 50% of pregnant women experience varying degrees of nausea, and 1/3 of pregnant women experience vomiting, which is most obvious in the early morning. A few pregnant women experience it frequently throughout the day. Most scholars believe that the symptoms are caused by hormonal changes in the body that lead to relaxation of gastrointestinal smooth muscles; experiments have also shown that this symptom is related to the anxiety of pregnant women. 2. Frequent urination and urgency: When the uterus protrudes from the abdominal cavity at 12 weeks of pregnancy, the symptoms disappear naturally. In the late pregnancy, as the fetal presenting part enters the pelvis, the bladder is squeezed again and frequent urination occurs again. Some pregnant women experience urine leakage when they cough, blow their nose, or sneeze. The nurse needs to explain to the patient the cause of the symptoms and that frequent and urgent urination are normal as long as a urinary tract infection is ruled out. There is no need to limit the fluid intake of pregnant women, so as to avoid dehydration and affect the body's normal metabolic process. 3. Stomach Discomfort: Pregnant women often report symptoms such as sourness, warmth, and upper abdominal pressure. In addition, gastrointestinal motility weakens during pregnancy, and the stomach muscle tension is low, especially the relaxation of the gastric sphincter, which causes the gastric contents to flow back into the lower esophagus. The esophageal mucosa is irritated and produces a burning sensation in the stomach area. Pregnant women complain of "heartburn". 4. Flatulence: During pregnancy, due to the weakening of gastrointestinal activity, intestinal gas often accumulates and causes unpleasant abdominal bloating, which usually does not require special treatment. The measures are to help pregnant women identify foods that cause bloating, guide them to choose easily digestible foods, avoid overeating, and meet the body's needs with small meals. 5. Constipation: The causes of constipation are displacement of the small intestine due to squeezing, reduced fluid intake and outdoor activities, slower intestinal motility during pregnancy, and iron supplementation during pregnancy. The above are the various reactions caused by pregnant women in the early stages of pregnancy. These reactions are relatively normal. As time goes by, these reactions will gradually subside, so expectant mothers do not need to be too nervous. Relaxing can alleviate these maladaptive reactions. |
