Frequent uterine contractions

Nowadays, many women suffer from gynecological diseases, and there are many types of gynecological diseases. Recently, many women have reported that they have frequent uterine contractions, and they don’t know what causes them. Today we will introduce to you what frequent uterine contractions are. What should we do if we encounter such problems in our lives? Let’s take a look below.

Before delivery, the mother will feel her abdomen swelling, tightening, and her lower abdomen dropping, which are uterine contractions. But in the beginning, uterine contractions are mostly irregular, appearing at night and disappearing during the day, and they last for a short time with long intervals. If the contractions become more frequent and stronger, the interval between two contractions will become shorter and shorter, from one contraction every 25 minutes to one hour, lasting for several minutes, and later develop into a contraction every 2-3 minutes, lasting about 30 seconds. At the same time, the lower back pain is significantly aggravated, and soreness appears in the lumbar sacral area. The uterine contractions gradually widen the cervix and the fetal head descends. This type of contraction is called "regular contraction."

If the mother is a first-time mother, regular uterine contractions indicate that labor has begun and she should be admitted to the hospital immediately to prepare for delivery.

In the weeks before delivery, the uterine muscles are more sensitive and there will be irregular uterine contractions that are short-lived, weak, or limited to the lower abdomen or groin area. If it stops after several hours, it will not cause the cervix to open or the fetal head to descend, so it is not labor and is called false labor. This type of contraction is irregular, non-cyclical, and painless. Some pregnant women can even feel irregular uterine contractions during the second trimester. It is more common in multiparas than in primiparas.

Uterine contractions usually begin about a month before delivery, and expectant mothers will feel that the frequency of contractions is increasing. When calculating uterine contractions, if the number of contractions per hour is around 10, it is considered to be relatively frequent. You should go to the hospital in time and have the doctor identify the nature of the contractions to prevent premature birth. If the contractions are not very frequent and there is no abdominal pain, just rest.

It should be noted that you should not take any medication on your own to avoid harming the fetus. Taking medicine generally cannot relieve the symptoms. At this time, pregnant mothers should pay attention to rest, especially avoid stimulating the abdomen. If uterine contractions are accompanied by severe abdominal pain, such as pain that makes you restless and your work and life are affected, you need to go to the hospital immediately.

Pregnant mothers can learn regular breathing techniques to cope with uterine contractions. ① Lie flat on your back, close your eyes, relax your mind, and breathe deeply through your nose. ② Take deep breaths through your mouth to relax your abdomen. ③After inhaling through the nose, hold your breath, and then exhale deeply.

The above is what professionals tell us about frequent uterine contractions. So based on the above we can see that uterine contractions may be a symptom of women before delivery, or they may be a type of false uterine contractions. If you encounter this disease in normal times, you need to go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment immediately, do not delay. I hope the above content can help you.
