Why do you gain weight during ovulation?

As we all know, the ovulation period is a very important stage for female friends, because the chance of pregnancy during the ovulation period is very high. Of course, there are also some symptoms during the ovulation period. So, why are you fatter during the ovulation period than usual?

Is this related to being fatter than usual during ovulation?

It has nothing to do with it. It’s just that you may feel a little tired during the ovulation period, eat too much or have poor digestion and absorption, which may lead to weight gain in a short period of time. When the egg reaches 18-25mm in diameter, it will be discharged naturally. The number of eggs released depends on the individual. Some eggs are released when they grow to 15mm, while others need to grow to 25mm. Uterine development is a continuous process, and the normal egg diameter should be between 18-25mm.

When a woman reaches menarche, the total number of eggs in her uterus and ovaries is 300,000 to 500,000. A batch of follicles will develop in the uterus every month, of which only one mature follicle can fully mature and release an egg, while the others will spontaneously regress. Only 400-500 uteri develop and are discharged in a woman's lifetime. The development from primary and intermediate eggs to mature follicles can be divided into 8 levels. It takes a total of 10 days from the growth of the 6th level egg to the 8th level egg, which happens to be the follicular stage in a physiological cycle. Starting from 16mm, after another 2-3 days, it will grow into a 20mm egg and be released.

Women who are preparing for pregnancy can grasp the ovulation period to increase the probability of pregnancy. When is the ovulation period? The ovulation period can be calculated according to the physiological cycle. It is usually counted from the first day of the next menarche. The last 14 days or minus 14 days is the ovulation period. The 5 days before the ovulation period, the ovulation period, and the 4 days after the ovulation period, these three times add up to the ovulation period.

For example, if the menstrual cycle is calculated as 30 days, and the first day of this menarche is September 1st, then the next menarche will be October 1st, and from October 1st to the last 14 days, September 17th is the ovulation period. The ovulation period is 5 days before ovulation, ovulation period, and 4 days after ovulation, that is, the ten days from September 12th to September 21st.

How to calculate ovulation period

1. Aquino Law

The Aquino method is also called the formula method, which means that the ovulation period is about 14 days forward from the last day of the menstrual cycle (that is, the first day of the next menstrual period). If the day of the next menarche is day N, then the ovulation period this time is day N-14.

2. Ovulation test paper method

The progesterone in women's urine is converted into growth hormone (LH), which will reach a peak value within 24-48 hours before ovulation. The use of ovulation test strips can more accurately detect the highest level of LH. After starting the test, you should perform the test regularly every day. When a color close to the peak value appears, you should test it every 12 hours until the highest LH value is detected.

3. Methods for measuring body temperature during ovulation

Accurately measure the ovulation body temperature and record it in various aspects for six to twelve months. The ovulation body temperature will rise by 0.3-0.5℃ after ovulation. Women who are preparing for pregnancy can buy a digital thermometer, set it below 35 degrees Celsius before going to bed every day, and measure their temperature immediately after waking up every morning (after 6-8 hours of sleep) without doing any exercise.

4. Observation of secretions

During a menstrual cycle, the characteristics of secretions undergo regular changes. Normally, the discharge is drier, thicker, and less in quantity. During ovulation, the secretions will become clearer and more transparent, like egg white, with a high degree of metallic brushing. This is because during ovulation, higher concentrations of estrogen are produced, which act on the columnar squamous epithelial cells at the cervical opening, causing them to secrete a large amount of secretions.
