Postoperative care for cervical polyps

Postoperative care for cervical polyps

The uterus is a very important organ for women. People who suffer from cervical polyps must undergo surgery to recover. However, postoperative care is often very important. If the care is good, the patient can recover quickly, but if the care is not good, the condition may worsen in serious cases. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the care of cervical polyps.

1. After treatment, you should pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, and refrain from sexual intercourse within one month. Go to the hospital for a review of your recovery after one month.

2. Pay attention to rest and avoid fatigue. Although the cervical polyp surgery is very simple, short and traumatic, patients should still pay attention to restore the body to normal levels as much as possible to prevent pathogenic bacteria from invading and wreaking havoc when the patient's immunity is low.

3. Take medicine on time and have regular checkups. Patients should take anti-infective drugs according to the doctor's instructions and should not stop taking the drugs or increase or decrease the dosage at will. In view of the high recurrence rate of this disease, it is best for patients to have a checkup every 2 months to reduce subsequent effects.

4. Eat light and nutritious food. After surgery, patients can choose some foods that are easy to digest and rich in vitamins, such as tomatoes and apples. However, spicy, irritating, greasy, and high-sugar foods are not conducive to wound healing, so patients are advised to eat less or no food.

5. Pay attention to hygiene and stop taking medicine. After the polyp is removed, the cervical wound will be gradually covered by new cell tissue and then return to normal. During this period, the patient must abstain from sex to prevent semen and sexual intercourse from stimulating the cervical wound and causing poor healing. To prevent infection, it is best for the patient to rinse the vulva with clean water every day and change underwear frequently to prevent bacteria from entering the vagina.

After reading the detailed introduction above, I believe everyone has a better understanding of the postoperative care of cervical polyps. Postoperative hygiene is the most important. Women should take good care of themselves. Healthy women are the most beautiful and the most confident. I hope the above content can be helpful to all patients. I wish you all good health and a happy life.
