What should I do if lochia recurs after cesarean section?

To be honest, I had never heard of "lochia" before, so I searched Baidu repeatedly and came to the conclusion that "lochia" is the blood and mucus discharged from the vagina after a woman gives birth. After giving birth, the uterine decidua, especially the decidua at the placenta attachment, is shed, and the tissue containing blood, necrotic decidua and other tissues are discharged through the vagina, which is called postpartum lochia.

1. Understand the normal state: the color of lochia changes from dark red at the beginning to light red later, and then turns yellow; the state will also change from viscous at the beginning to slowly decreasing later, usually lasting about a week, and a few mothers can last 1-2 months. If the lochia is still leaking three months after delivery, it is considered as unclean lochia.

2. Discharge of lochia: Common causes include infection of the uterine cavity, the presence of products of pregnancy in the uterine cavity, such as the placenta, decidua, fetal membranes and other tissues, poor uterine involution, and the most serious complication is choriocarcinoma. Generally speaking, if a new mother eats sesame oil chicken too early, it will make it difficult to discharge lochia, and even cause delayed postpartum hemorrhage. This will easily cause blood clots to accumulate in the uterus, and may even lead to endometritis and sepsis.

Generally speaking, when breastfeeding, a breastfeeding mother can stimulate the rapid contraction of the uterus and discharge the lochia as soon as possible. There are many reasons for lochia, such as not getting enough rest, excessive fatigue, or taking supplements too early (such as eating sesame oil chicken in the first or second week). Because the internal organs have not yet fully contracted, taking supplements too early will burden the internal organs and make it impossible to discharge lochia. In addition, poor uterine contraction, endometritis or the use of medications such as vasodilators may cause lochia to not be discharged in time. This should be promptly explained to the doctor during the 42-day postpartum physical examination. If you encounter persistent lochia, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

After understanding what lochia is, it should not be difficult for us to understand the meaning of the title. So after reading this short article, do you feel a lot more open-minded? It turns out that learning is such an easy thing. Do you think the same as I do? There are opportunities to learn everywhere in life, just like what I am doing now, which is also a kind of learning.
