Introduction to techniques for breastfeeding mothers

Many mothers do not have enough milk to feed their children after they are born, which will lead to malnutrition of their children. After all, no matter how good the milk powder is, it is not as nutritious as the mother's breast milk, so they need to increase their milk production. Let us learn about the techniques and skills of mothers in increasing their milk production.

Tips:

1. Feed both breasts: If you only feed one side at a time, the breast will be less stimulated and naturally produce less milk. Let your baby suck on both breasts during each feeding. Some babies have a small appetite and only need milk from one breast. In this case, you may want to use a breast pump to suck out the thinner milk in the front so that the baby can get thicker and more nutritious milk.

2. Suck more: The less milk the mother has, the more times the baby should suck; because the baby's sucking force is greater, the baby's mouth can be used to massage the areola. The more you feed, the more milk you produce.

3. Empty the breasts: Mothers should have more skin contact with their babies. The baby's sucking on the nipple is the best stimulation for the secretion of breast milk. After each breastfeeding, let the baby fully empty the breasts, which is conducive to the re-production of milk.

4. Maintain a good mood: Whether breast milk is sufficient is closely related to the psychological factors and emotional feelings of the new mother. Therefore, mothers should remain calm and patient under any circumstances, and face everything in life with a calm and happy attitude.

5. Replenish water: Breastfeeding mothers often feel thirsty while breastfeeding, which is normal. Mothers should pay attention to replenishing water when breastfeeding, or drink more soy milk, almond powder tea (this recipe is recommended by the International Breastfeeding Association), fruit juice, original vegetable soup, etc. Just replenish water moderately so that the milk supply will be both sufficient and nutritious.
