Pelvic inflammatory disease surgery

Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common disease among women. This type of disease has a great impact on women's physical health. When women suffer from this disease, they must receive timely treatment. The common method of treating pelvic inflammatory disease is surgery. This treatment method is very helpful in controlling female diseases. However, when using this treatment method, it is also necessary to understand the surgical methods of pelvic inflammatory disease, so that you have some understanding of how to do it.

Pelvic inflammatory disease surgery method:

Surgical treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease is mainly used for tubo-ovarian abscess (TOA) or pelvic abscess that is not adequately controlled by antibiotics. Indications for surgery include: ineffectiveness of drug treatment; TOA or pelvic abscess after 48-72 hours of drug treatment; persistent abscess; improvement after drug treatment but persistent abscess; rupture of abscess, etc.

The surgical method can be selected as abdominal surgery or laparoscopic surgery according to the situation. The scope of surgery should be comprehensively considered based on the extent of the lesion, the patient's age, and general condition. The principle is to remove the lesion.

①Young women should try to preserve ovarian function, mainly using conservative surgery;

② For patients who are older, have bilateral adnexal involvement or have repeated adnexal abscesses, total hysterectomy and adnexectomy should be performed.

③The scope of surgery for extremely weak and critically ill patients must be determined based on specific circumstances. If the pelvic abscess is located low and protrudes into the posterior fornix of the vagina, it can be drained through the vagina and antibiotics can be injected at the same time.

After understanding the surgical methods for pelvic inflammatory disease, women also need to follow the doctor's advice when using this type of treatment, which will help treat the disease. At the same time, if the pelvic inflammatory disease is not very serious, this treatment method can be chosen. Drugs are a good choice and are very helpful in stabilizing the disease.
