How to remove cervical polyps

How to remove cervical polyps

Women's concerns about their reproductive health. It cannot be ignored. Because of their special physiological structure, they are easily affected by some gynecological diseases. We all know that any gynecological disease is a harm to women. Cervical polyps are actually one of them. When this problem occurs, it is necessary to receive treatment and undergo cervical polyp removal surgery to reduce the malignant lesions of polyps.

Cervical polyps are accumulations formed by localized proliferation of the cervical mucosa. Although they are a relatively common gynecological disease, they are small in size and may not cause any symptoms. They are often discovered only during examinations for other gynecological diseases. Larger polyps may cause increased vaginal discharge or complaints of contact bleeding, especially spotting or bloody vaginal discharge after sexual intercourse or bowel movements, but the amount of bleeding is generally not much. Polyps covered with squamous epithelium have a tough texture and generally do not cause contact bleeding or bloody leucorrhea. If cervical polyps are accompanied by more severe cervicitis, symptoms of cervicitis may also appear.

Once cervical polyps are discovered, they should be removed surgically. Cervical polypectomy is relatively simple. After disinfecting the vagina and cervix with iodine, use hemostatic forceps to clamp the base of the polyp pedicle and rotate it to remove it. The operation is painless. After the operation, the wound surface is applied with chlortetracycline powder and pressed with cotton balls to reduce inflammation and stop bleeding. If the polyp is large and has a thick pedicle, the broken ends can be electrocauterized to stop bleeding after removal. Regardless of the size of the removed polyps, pathological examination must be performed, because cervical polyps have a malignancy rate of 0.2% to 0.4%. Although this rate is very low, do not miss the diagnosis due to carelessness. In addition, although the polyps have been removed, the inflammation of the cervix has not been completely eliminated, so the polyps may recur, so regular check-ups are needed.

I hope that every woman will pay attention to these gynecological common sense and the prevention of various diseases. Only by paying attention to your physical health can you discover adverse problems in time and adopt scientific treatments. I also hope that female friends will learn to take good care of themselves and avoid promiscuous or unclean sexual behavior.
