How many weeks does it take for pregnant women to start prenatal checkups?

Pregnant women need to have regular prenatal checkups during pregnancy. Generally, the first checkup is carried out around March, which is in the 12th week. Thereafter, checkups are conducted every 4 weeks. Starting from the 28th week, checkups are conducted every 2 weeks. The items of each checkup are slightly different. Below I will explain to you the basic knowledge about prenatal checkups for pregnant women.

1. How many weeks does a pregnant woman start to do prenatal check-up?

1. Generally speaking, prenatal check-ups start from the 12th week. During the ten months of pregnancy, the frequency of prenatal checkups is generally 9-13 times, with the first checkup starting at 12 weeks of pregnancy, followed by checks every 4 weeks, every 2 weeks after 28 weeks, and once a week after 36 weeks.

2. This is the frequency of prenatal checkups for normal pregnant women. If a pregnant woman finds any abnormalities, such as vaginal bleeding, lower abdominal pain, etc., she should go for a check-up at the time promised by the doctor. At 6-8 weeks of pregnancy, pregnant women will go to the hospital to confirm whether they are pregnant, and use B-ultrasound to determine whether it is a normal pregnancy or an abnormal pregnancy (ectopic pregnancy, hydatidiform mole, etc.), and understand whether the test tube embryo is alive.

2. Items of the first pregnancy test

1. Liver and kidney function test: Check for hepatitis, nephritis and other symptoms. Conduct hepatitis B (HBV) virology testing because the HBV can be directly transmitted to children. Color Doppler ultrasound to listen to the baby's heart rate: The doctor uses a Doppler fetal heart rate monitor to listen to the baby's heart rate.

2. Examination of various parts of the human body: The doctor will examine the pregnant mother's thyroid cysts, breasts, and pelvis. Since the pelvis is examined by internal diagnosis, in order to avoid excessive stimulation of the uterus, the doctor will let the pregnant mother lie flat on the diagnosis table and touch the pregnant mother's abdomen with his hand to see if there is any lumps. If there is a lump, it is necessary to suspect whether it is a uterine or ovarian tumor or uterine fibroids, but most of them are benign tumors.

3. Routine blood test: Pregnant mothers have blood tests, mainly to test the pregnant mother's blood shape, hemoglobin concentration (to check the pregnant mother's anemia level), liver function, kidney function, and syphilis, hepatitis B, AIDS, etc., so as to prevent them in the future.
