What are the conditions for a normal birth?

Nowadays, many women are beginning to worry about fertility issues. In the past, many old people believed that children born by caesarean section are healthier and smarter, but now it has been scientifically proven that children born by natural birth are healthier. However, not everyone is suitable for this method of childbirth. Some people are not very suitable for this method of childbirth and they cannot meet the conditions for natural birth.

So what are the conditions for a normal birth?

1. Conditions for normal delivery: baby

1. The fetus is of moderate weight - the baby weighs about 6 jin, and the neck is ≤100mm

In today's society, women often receive special care after they become pregnant, especially in terms of dietary supplements, so this causes many expectant mothers to have serious body deformations and their babies to become giants. Once the baby's weight is greater than 7 catties, the expectant mother will no longer be able to give birth naturally.

2. Normal fetal position: the baby's head is bent, the occipital bone is in front, and the head is the first to enter the pelvis during delivery.

Whether the baby's fetus is normal is also a key factor in whether a normal delivery can be achieved. At present, common abnormal fetal positions during pregnancy include breech presentation, transverse presentation, and cephalic presentation. If a mother insists on giving birth naturally despite an abnormal fetus, it is very likely to increase the rate of dystocia for expectant mothers. Therefore, pregnant women should go to the hospital for pregnancy check-ups in time. Doctors use a four-step method to determine whether the fetal position is abnormal. If it is a breech or transverse position, it should be able to turn back to normal by itself before 30 weeks of pregnancy. However, if it cannot turn back to normal by itself after 30 weeks, it should be corrected.

2. Conditions for normal delivery: Mothers

1. Sufficient labor force - rhythmic and powerful labor force

If you want your baby to be delivered smoothly from your belly, the expectant mother's labor force will be put to the test. Labor forces include the force of uterine contraction, the expulsion force and downward pressure generated by the contraction of the abdominal muscles and levator ani muscles. Among them, uterine contraction plays a major role. It can expand and widen the cervical opening to allow the baby to descend; while the contraction of the abdominal muscles and levator ani muscles can assist uterine contraction in expelling the baby from the body.

2. Smooth birth canal - pelvis suitable for natural childbirth

In the old society, many people believed that women with big butts were easier to give birth, that is, the larger the pelvis, the greater the chance of a natural birth. In fact, medical theory also believes that if the diameter of the mid-pelvis of the expectant mother is above 9.8 cm, there will be no problem in childbirth. If it is less than 9.2 cm, the chance of natural childbirth is relatively small. The diameter of the mid-pelvis can be determined by X-ray.

From the above we have learned that the conditions for normal delivery not only need to be met by the mother, but also have certain requirements for the child. If a woman wants to give birth naturally, she must make sure that the fetus in her belly has a normal weight during pregnancy. At the same time, she should pay attention to the fetal position. If the fetal position is not correct, it can be adjusted in the early stages.
