What to do if you have a nosebleed during pregnancy

Living in this world, we will always encounter various things. How sensitive a mother is when she is pregnant! When problems arise, we are always afraid and feel a little depressed. As a husband, we should pay more attention to our wives and let them live happily. As a husband, you should also know more about pregnant women. For example, knowing what to do if you have a nosebleed during pregnancy can help your wife live a healthy and happy life.

Since most nosebleeds occur in the front and lower part of the nasal septum, you only need to press the nose wing on the bleeding side against the nasal septum or stuff a small ball of clean cotton into it and press again to stop the bleeding. If bilateral nostril bleeding occurs, you can pinch the nostrils on both sides with your thumb and index finger to compress the bleeding area in the front and lower part of the nasal septum for a slightly longer time (about 5 minutes); then apply a cold towel (change from time to time) or an ice pack to the forehead and nose to promote local vasoconstriction, which can reduce bleeding and accelerate hemostasis. When you have a nosebleed, don't panic, stay calm, because mental stress will increase your blood pressure and intensify bleeding. If blood flows to the back of the nose, you must spit it out and not swallow it, otherwise it will irritate the gastric mucosa and cause vomiting. When vomiting, nose bleeding will inevitably increase. If the nose bleeding continues after taking the above measures, you must go to the ENT department of the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

To prevent nosebleeds during pregnancy, pregnant mothers should eat less spicy food and eat more foods containing vitamin C to strengthen the blood vessel walls, enhance the elasticity of blood vessels, and prevent rupture and bleeding. Actions such as blowing your nose or picking your nose can prevent bleeding due to damage to the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa.

Once nose bleeding occurs, the pregnant mother can raise her head and pinch her nose with her hands, and then stuff cotton wool or paper towels dipped in cold water into the nostrils. You can also apply a cold towel to your forehead and gently pat your forehead with your hands to slow down the blood flow. If the bleeding cannot be stopped within a short period of time, you should go to the hospital for treatment immediately.

If blood flows to the back of the nose, be sure to spit it out and do not swallow it, otherwise it will irritate the gastric mucosa and easily cause vomiting.

Through the above knowledge, I believe everyone knows what to do if you have nosebleeds during pregnancy? Mothers are great in this world. They have been thinking about you before you were born. They are our guides in life, guiding us to move forward bravely, letting us recognize right from wrong, and letting us live in a happy and complete family. Being a mother is so difficult! As our mother's children, we should care for her and be filial to her more, so that she can be proud of her in her future life!
