Methods, procedures and advantages of accessory mastectomy

Perhaps you are not very familiar with accessory mastectomy, a breast treatment surgery, but as more and more women suffer from breast diseases, accessory mastectomy is becoming more and more well-known. Here, let us briefly introduce some basic knowledge about it, such as the surgical procedure of accessory mastectomy.

Technical method: ① The patient lies flat and the local area is disinfected.

②Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is generally used.

③ Make a horizontal shuttle-shaped incision of appropriate size, which is generally located in the transverse fold of the armpit. (If the incision is moved upward to the top of the armpit, the surgical scar can be more hidden.)

④After freeing the skin flaps on both sides, remove the glandular tissue and excess skin.

⑤Set up a negative pressure drainage tube.

⑥Skin incision edges are sutured.

⑦Apply pressure bandage.

⑧Perform routine pathological section examination.

Surgical procedure: 1. Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is not conducive to the free flap of the electrosurgical knife, nor is it conducive to distinguishing fat and accessory breast gland tissue during accessory breast removal surgery under continuous epidural anesthesia or intravenous anesthesia.

2. Incision: Choose an oblique fusiform incision on the outer edge of the pectoralis major muscle. This way, the patient cannot see the surgical scar when wearing a vest after surgery. The tension on the incision is smaller when the upper limbs move, which is conducive to the healing of the incision and upper limb movement.

3. Excision: Remove the accessory breast tissue in one piece to prevent recurrence. The anterior axillary accessory breast should be removed to the outer edge of the pectoralis major fascia, and the bottom should reach the deep subcutaneous fascia; the anterior axillary accessory breast should be removed to the vicinity of the pectoralis major muscle, and the posterior edge of the axilla, and the bottom should also reach the deep subcutaneous fascia.

Advantages of surgery: 1. The incision of accessory breast removal is concealed, and the incision line is located within the natural fold line of the armpit, so no surgical scar will be left on the chest after the operation;

2. During accessory breast removal surgery, local anesthetic swelling fluid is injected into the accessory breast, so there is very little bleeding during the operation;

3. After accessory breast removal, the skin will not show obvious wrinkles;

4. For patients with axillary odor, accessory breast removal surgery can be performed at the same time, which can effectively remove axillary odor without affecting the results of the surgery.

I believe that after understanding the technical methods, surgical process and advantages of accessory breast removal surgery, you will no longer feel confused about this surgery. Accessory breast removal surgery, as a surgery that can help women restore their beauty and health, is also worth understanding. I also hope that everyone will not be afraid when encountering this type of surgery, and can also help the female friends around you to understand accessory breast removal surgery.
