What are multiple endometrial polyps?

What are multiple endometrial polyps?

What is multiple endometrial polyps? The health of the uterus directly affects a woman's fertility, and in my country, 20% of infertility patients are caused by endometrial polyps. Endometrial polyps are very common in clinical practice, and there is no specific age group for their onset. Therefore, for women who want to have children, if they have not been pregnant for a long time, they should first check for endometrial polyps one by one.

Causes of multiple uterine polyps

The causes of multiple uterine polyps may be related to inflammation, endocrine disorders, and excessive estrogen levels. It can occur at any age after puberty, but is most common in women over 35. Smaller endometrial polyps generally have no clinical symptoms and are often discovered during gross examination after hysterectomy for other diseases, or can only be diagnosed after a diagnostic curettage.

Symptoms of multiple uterine polyps

1. Excessive menstrual bleeding, prolonged menstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding, or postmenopausal vaginal bleeding.

2. Giant polyps or polyps protruding from the cervix often become infected and necrotized, causing irregular vaginal bleeding and foul-smelling bloody discharge.

3. The uterus is normal or slightly enlarged, accompanied by symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, increased leucorrhea, and bleeding after sexual intercourse.

4. Primary or secondary infertility occurs.

Treatment of multiple uterine polyps

Therefore, when patients discover symptoms, they can receive timely treatment to avoid the pain of treatment caused by polyps becoming too large.

This is all we know about the disease of multiple endometrial polyps. For patients, this disease cannot be taken lightly. When women experience irregular vaginal discharge or bleeding after sexual intercourse for no reason, please seek medical treatment in time to see if it is caused by multiple endometrial polyps. If so, please seek treatment in time. I wish you a speedy recovery!
