What are the dangers of smoking for women

Smoking is harmful to health. In our lives, not only men like to smoke, but there are also many women who smoke. We all know that smoking is very harmful to the human body, and smoking is much more harmful to women than to men. Let’s now look at the main harms of smoking to women’s bodies.

1. Smokers' teeth are stained with smoke stains, which are difficult to fade. Bad breath and terrible hair quality.;

2. Smoking can bring women's menopause earlier, 1 to 3 years earlier;

3. Nicotine destroys collagen, making the skin drier and therefore more wrinkled;

4. Nicotine will inhibit the secretion of female hormones (estrogen and progesterone), destroy certain enzymes in the body, delay the menstruation of girls, and cause menstrual disorders and dysmenorrhea;

5. Due to the decrease of estrogen, women's secondary sexual characteristics cannot develop and their breast circumference will become smaller;

6. Smoking can cause blood flow obstruction, which prevents the blood around the eyes from being supplied with sufficient oxygen, leading to dark circles;

7. Blood flow is impaired, capillaries shrink, and pores will of course become larger and larger;

The affinity of carbon monoxide in smoke to hemoglobin is 250 times higher than that of oxygen. When people inhale more carbon monoxide, it combines with hemoglobin to form a large amount of carboxyhemoglobin, while the amount of oxygenated hemoglobin is greatly reduced. The concentration of carboxyhemoglobin in non-smokers is about 0.5%, while that in heavy smokers is as high as 20%. That is to say, 20% of the hemoglobin has lost the function of transporting oxygen, which leads to hypoxia of body tissues, decreased organ function, etc. It is especially prone to cause hypoxia of arterial walls, causing edema of arterial walls, promoting lipid infiltration and deposition, triggering atherosclerosis, and further aggravating organ damage. Nicotine can first excite and then inhibit the central nervous system. Its stimulation to the heart increases the burden on the heart, increases myocardial oxygen consumption, and causes hypoxia of the arterial wall and myocardium. It can also stimulate the heart's conduction system, inducing tachycardia and arrhythmia. What is particularly serious is that smoking can induce coronary artery spasm, slowing down blood flow in the coronary arteries, reducing blood volume, and increasing blood viscosity, which can lead to myocardial hypoxia and angina pectoris in mild cases and myocardial infarction in severe cases. In order to reduce the incidence of coronary heart disease, people should stay away from "smoking areas" and smokers should quit smoking.

The above is about the harm that smoking does to women’s bodies. We can see that smoking not only damages women’s skin but also causes women to enter menopause early. At the same time, smoking can also lead to the onset of coronary heart disease, so we must stay away from smoking.
