What are the signs of childbirth in pregnant women?

I believe many expectant mothers and fathers are concerned about the signs of delivery, because most of them are giving birth for the first time and have no experience. Although medicine is advanced now and the calculation of the expected date of delivery is very accurate, and hospitals can deal with many problems, expectant mothers still need to understand some of the conditions of delivery in order to make psychological and preliminary preparations in advance. Here we list three signs of delivery for your reference.

1. Uterine fundus descent:

About two weeks before delivery, the fundus of the uterus will drop in a first-time mother. At this time, she will feel relaxed in the upper abdomen, and her breathing will become smoother than before. The uncomfortable feeling of stomach pressure will be relieved a lot, and her appetite will also increase accordingly.

2. Seeing red:

In the last few weeks of pregnancy, cervical secretions increase and the amount of vaginal discharge increases. Normal cervical secretions are a viscous liquid, which usually forms a mucus plug in the cervix to prevent bacteria from invading the uterine cavity. During pregnancy, this secretion is more abundant and thicker. As the uterus contracts regularly, this mucus plug is expelled with the contractions that begin labor;

Also, due to the separation of the fetal membrane at the endometrium and the uterine wall, there is a small amount of bleeding. This bleeding mixes with the uterine mucus plug and is discharged from the vagina, which is called red show. Showing blood is a relatively reliable sign that labor is about to begin. If the amount of bleeding is greater than usual, you should consider whether there is any abnormality. It may be placental abruption and you need to go to the hospital for examination immediately.

3. There is a feeling of oppression in the lower abdomen:

Due to the descent, the part that will be exposed first during delivery has already dropped to the entrance of the pelvis, causing distension in the lower abdomen and compression of the bladder. At this time, you will feel back pain and leg pain, difficulty walking, and frequent urination.

Through the descriptions of the above three signs of delivery, expectant mothers should pay special attention. The most obvious one is spotting, which is actually a mixture of a small amount of bleeding and uterine mucus seeping out of the body. This indicates that you should go to the hospital in time to prepare for delivery. We also need to pay special attention to the feeling of falling pressure in the lower abdomen and frequent urination. In short, pregnant women must pay special attention to the appearance of these signs when the due date arrives.
