Causes of retroverted uterus

Causes of retroverted uterus

The reproductive organs of female friends are very important. They are not only related to themselves but also to the development of the baby. The female uterus is so sensitive and prone to various diseases. Therefore, once there is a problem with the uterus, we must actively treat it. Retroverted uterus is a common symptom. So what causes retroverted uterus?

Many pregnant women are very afraid that the retroverted uterus will affect the development of the baby. In fact, for most pregnant women, the retroverted uterus will not affect fertility. Of course, the retroverted uterus is also very easy to prevent.

Retroverted uterus is relatively common clinically, that is, the longitudinal axis of the uterus remains unchanged, and the entire uterus tilts backwards, which easily causes the cervix to be in an upward position, that is, retroverted uterus, making it difficult for the cervix to be immersed in the semen pool and may affect conception. There are two types of retroverted uterus: congenital and acquired. Except for those with gynecological diseases, most patients with retroverted uterus can have successful pregnancy. Only a few patients with more serious conditions need surgical treatment for retroverted uterus.

1. Inflammation of the uterus, fallopian tubes or ovaries causes tissue adhesion between the uterine body and the rectum behind it, causing the uterus to move out of its original position under traction and tip backwards, resulting in a posterior position of the uterus with poor mobility.

2. Due to congenital hypoplasia of the uterus, the uterine ligaments become loose, causing the bottom of the uterus to tilt backwards or to the left or right.

3. Multiple artificial abortions, or failure to rest well after artificial abortions, pelvic infection, causing the uterus to tip backwards.

Prevention of retroverted uterus

Most cases of retroverted uterus are preventable. The key is to allow the mother to get enough rest after delivery so that the pelvic tissue can recover in time. Pay special attention to your lying posture during rest and avoid lying on your back for long periods of time. Side-lying, supine and prone positions should be rotated alternately. Starting from the third day after delivery, you can do some health exercises for the abdomen, limbs and pelvic floor muscles in bed, which will help postpartum recovery. After miscarriage or due to other reasons, pelvic infection and adhesion formation will promote the formation of retroverted uterus, so it should be treated actively as soon as possible. Strictly implement postpartum examinations and promptly correct any poor recovery of the uterus after delivery.

1. It is best to sleep in a side-lying position instead of a supine position, to prevent the uterus from falling backwards due to gravity over time. It should be noted that the position of the uterus is often related to sleeping posture. Women who have had an abortion or sleep in a supine position for a long time are prone to a retroverted uterus, so it is recommended to sleep in a prone position or a chest-knee side-lying position.

2. Develop the habit of urinating and defecating on time, do not overfill the bladder, and do not increase abdominal pressure due to habitual constipation.

3. Pay attention to physical exercise in daily life to enhance the tension of the ligaments and pelvic floor muscles in the pelvic cavity, and try not to loosen them.

4. Avoid chronic bronchitis and cough frequently and forcefully.
