Can I eat miso soup during menstruation?

One time I had my period and my uterus was in pain. Drinking brown sugar water didn’t help. I didn’t want to eat at night, so I called my roommate and asked her not to cook for me at night because I couldn’t eat and my stomach hurt. When I returned to the dormitory at night, my roommate said, “You can’t eat. I made some soup for you to warm your stomach.” I said, “Okay.” I had never seen this kind of soup before. I asked, “What kind of soup is this?” My roommate said, “It’s miso soup.” I asked, “Can I eat miso soup during my period?”
