Common misunderstandings in the treatment of vaginitis

The high temperature in summer provides a good environment for the growth of bacteria, especially during the high incidence period of various vaginal inflammations in women. So what are the misunderstandings in the treatment of vaginitis?

1. Long-term use of various lotions to clean the lower body and flush the vagina:

Some women use various lotions to clean their lower body for a long time, and some women use tap water to rinse their vagina when bathing. These are not advisable. The female vagina is an acidic environment and has a self-cleaning function. Long-term use of various vaginal washes will kill the vaginal bacteria that are beneficial to the body, reduce local resistance, and increase the chance of infection. For daily cleaning, you can use a weakly acidic feminine care solution with a PH value of 4.

2. Blindly buy medicine based on advertisements:

There are many types of vaginitis, and different types of vaginitis require different medications. Therefore, before buying medicine, patients should understand the type of disease they have and choose the right medicine. If you are not sure, you should go to the hospital for treatment. At the same time, doctors will choose sensitive drugs for treatment based on the infecting pathogens and patient signs. At the same time, the doctor will tell the patient the correct medication method and course of treatment to avoid drug resistance and recurrence of the disease.

3. Unauthorized use of large amounts of antibiotics :

Many patients start taking antibiotics immediately upon hearing that they have vaginitis. In fact, the direct consequence of excessive use of antibiotics is that the bacteria develop drug resistance, which destroys the balanced and restrictive relationship between vaginal flora, leading to vigorous growth of fungi, continuous extension of treatment cycle, and ineffective treatment of the disease. Especially when using antibiotics for fungal infections, it will aggravate the symptoms of infection.

4. Abuse of vaginal suppositories:

After suffering from vaginitis, some suppositories can better treat the inflammation, but don't think that you have to use suppositories just because you have vaginitis. Treatment should be based on the cause, otherwise the condition will become more serious.

5. Stop taking the medicine when the symptoms disappear:

Most people stop taking medication after their symptoms have eased, but after a few days, they start feeling uncomfortable again and start taking medication again, causing vaginitis to recur again and again. In fact, there is a more stringent course of treatment for vaginitis. If you don't follow the course of treatment, the infection will most likely rebound. Irregular medication can also lead to drug resistance and increase the difficulty of treatment.
