Placental maturity

Placental maturity

In fact, placental maturity is divided into three levels clinically. Generally speaking, if the placenta matures too early, it is still very bad. Therefore, pregnant women must pay attention to such issues after they become pregnant. If the placenta matures too early and the absorption ability of the placenta is poor, it will be very dangerous for the baby. We cannot ignore this.

In fact, placental maturity can be divided into four levels clinically, which are level 0, level 1, level 2 and level 3. Level 0 means that under normal circumstances, the expectant mother has reached the middle stage of pregnancy, which is roughly twelve weeks of pregnancy, and the placenta is around twenty-eight weeks.

A prematurely mature placenta means that the placenta ages quickly, which can easily lead to insufficient oxygen supply to the fetus and even cause delayed growth and development of the fetus. By the end of pregnancy, the placenta is basically mature. If the placenta is found to have entered stage 3 before 37 weeks of pregnancy, and combined with the value of the biparietal diameter and the estimated fetal weight of 2500 grams, the expectant mother should be alert to precocious placenta.

There is another phenomenon that all expectant mothers must pay attention to. That is, if the pregnancy is overdue, the earlier and longer the due date is exceeded, the greater the possibility of placental aging. If the placenta ages, the nutrition and oxygen provided to the fetus will be greatly reduced, which can easily cause fetal hypoxia. In severe cases, the baby may develop brain disease in the future or increase the baby's suffocation rate.

We must have some understanding of the maturity of the placenta, because for female friends, the more mature the placenta is, the better it is. We should judge whether we have the corresponding placental maturity based on our stage of pregnancy, because the placenta is the key to providing nutrition to the fetus. We can't be careless.
