Pregnancy pain

Pregnancy pain

Pregnancy will have an impact on a woman's physiology and body. Various body functions will change to varying degrees. As the uterus begins to grow larger, it will gradually compress the intestines, and there will always be some bacterial infection or urine retention in the intestines. Over time, it will cause urinary tract infection and pain when urinating. For this symptom, how should we provide corresponding care?

Precautions for urinary tract infection in pregnant women

The female urethra is relatively wide and straight, only a few centimeters long; the opening is close to the vaginal opening and anus, where there are often secretions and excretions, which can easily contaminate the urethra, and bacteria can ascend along the urethra and cause infection. Generally speaking, women are 10 times more likely to have urinary tract infections than men, and the incidence of urinary tract infections is higher in pregnant women.

1. During pregnancy, the estrogen level in pregnant women rises, which will cause the acidity of the urethra to decrease. At the same time, the glucose, amino acids and other nutrients in the urine increase after pregnancy, which also increases the chance of urethral bacterial reproduction;

2. Under the influence of progesterone, the smooth muscles of the urethral wall relax and peristalsis weakens. In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the enlarged uterus will also compress the bladder and ureters, which will cause poor urine flow and urine retention, and increase the chance of urinary tract infection.

The main treatment for urinary tract infection is antibiotics, and currently there is no other drug (including Chinese herbal medicine) that can replace it. Therefore, we should be aware of the adverse effects of various antimicrobial drugs on pregnant women and fetuses in order to avoid danger and ensure the safety of mother and child. Here we analyze the adverse effects of some commonly used antibiotics on the fetus to reduce the harm caused to pregnant women due to blind use of drugs.

Pregnant women must keep an extra string in mind when taking medication. Rational use of medicines is crucial, this applies to antibiotics as well as other medicines. It is wrong to blindly abuse drugs, but it is also absolutely wrong not to use drugs for fear of adverse effects. Everything has its limits. The correct approach should be to obtain guidance from a doctor and choose medications reasonably based on the severity of the disease, physical condition, and length of pregnancy.
