Causes of prolonged menstruation

Causes of prolonged menstruation

With the development of the times, many female friends have some potential gynecological diseases. They encounter some gynecological diseases, mainly menstrual problems. Irregular menstruation is also a common disease. There are many reasons for long menstruation. You should pay more attention to avoid this abnormal phenomenon. If the menstruation lasts too long, you must take time to go to the hospital for examination.

Its main common causes include functional uterine problems such as bleeding, pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, and some endometritis. Inflammations caused by non-uterine fibroids can also lead to prolonged bleeding, and menstrual disorders are mainly manifested in functional uterine disorders.

First: Dysfunctional uterine bleeding. For example, anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding and irregular endometrial shedding both cause prolonged menstruation due to endocrine dysfunction.

Second: pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammation, intrauterine polyps, endometritis, etc. are all caused by poor intrauterine blood circulation, degeneration and necrosis, or pelvic congestion, which lead to excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation.

Third: uterine fibroids. Especially for submucosal uterine fibroids, due to the expansion of the uterine cavity area and abnormal contraction, it can cause menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation.

Fourth: chronic uterine hypertrophy. Due to pelvic congestion, ovarian estrogen continues to increase, causing thickening of the uterine muscle layer, resulting in excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation.

Fifth: Endometriosis. It often causes menorrhagia or prolonged menstruation due to affecting the contraction of the uterine muscle layer or strengthening the endometrium.

Sixth: Dysfunctional uterine bleeding. For example, anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding and irregular endometrial shedding both cause prolonged menstruation due to endocrine dysfunction. Blood disease. Such as thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, etc., are often accompanied by menstruation. If severe uterine bleeding occurs, the menstrual period will be prolonged. Other conditions such as chronic anemia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, nephritis, etc. can make blood vessel walls fragile and increase permeability, causing bleeding.

The above are some common effects and causes caused by prolonged menstruation. In daily life, if the bleeding time is too long, you must pay attention to eating less other types of blood-enriching foods, and avoid eating sweets or drinks to prevent blood sugar instability from aggravating the condition. It is still necessary to go to the hospital for treatment and diagnosis in time when such diseases are discovered, and do not seek medical treatment casually.
